Greenoak Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 I know this is not directly LFC related but I have just read that Read Madrid offered Kaka 60 million Euros over the next five years. This works at at just over £155,000 a WEEK So there you go Chelsea thats what you have to pay Frankie if you want him to stay. Bent getting offered 75k per week with west ham Buying and paying footballers is getting very very expensive. You only get about £30 mill for winning champioons league, but more and more players are now getting 4 , 5 or 6 mill a year each...
Maldini Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 Even that £30m figure is misleading, we'd only get about £10m more for winning the CL than we would for getting knocked out in the quarters
Paul B Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 Meanwhile, dedicated nurses are working long shifts trying to save people's lives for £15,000 per year in some cases.

Gunga Din Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 Meanwhile, dedicated nurses are working long shifts trying to save people's lives for £15,000 per year in some cases. thats not the footballers fault is it?
Falconhoof Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 Meanwhile, dedicated nurses are working long shifts trying to save people's lives for £15,000 per year in some cases. If they are that dedicated, why don't they do it as voluntary work. Greedy bitches. And wash their hands once in a while, MRSA spreding c****.
floyd Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 (edited) If they are that dedicated, why don't they do it as voluntary work. Greedy bitches.I'd say that's probably on par with the England players recently given their fees to England match fees to charity. Ashley Cole was no doubt crying his fvckin heart out when he found out. Edited June 17, 2007 by floyd
Paul B Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 thats not the footballers fault is it? No, it's not. But if we who pay a portion of this obscene money stand idly by and say and do nothing, then the disparity will grow even wider. It's already started to have an effect and the backlash is definitely in the post. They all need to watch themselves and try and rein themselves in before it is too late. If it isn't already. I'd say that's probably on par with the England players recently given their fees to England match fees to charity. What (sniff) heroes our boys are. Makes me (sniff, sniff) proud to be a supporter of this beautiful (sniff) game, it really does. We should (sniff) erect a statue to these (sniff) selfless modern day giants.
meepins Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 Beckham will be getting $1m a week soonYeah but Beckham deserves that, probably the greatest footballer of modern times what with all his ability ... to em.... .... curl the ball and stuff.

They can't win can they - if they don't do it they're scum, if they do they get treated to the obligatory derisory sarcasm. Wayne is absolutely right, it's got nothing to do with footballers what anyone else makes.
Maldini Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 The Isle of Man millionaires club probably avoided more tax last year than the entire membership of the PFA earned. No ire for them? It's the same as that recent show with the economist looking for money for nurses off footballers. Why footballers? Why not businessmen?

Wayne is absolutely right, it's got nothing to do with footballers what anyone else makes. Oh they can win alright. While we sit there star-struck and gob-smacked at their audacity in demanding up to 400 times the national average wage and there's people prepared to actually DEFEND this obscene right (and there's no other word for it), then they absolutely can win. If you're happy with that situation then carry on. Me, I find it disgusting and the sooner people wake up to it, the better for all concerned. Yes, for footballers too in the long run.
Snoeker Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 Meanwhile, dedicated nurses are working long shifts trying to save people's lives for £15,000 per year in some cases. But thats hardly entertainment, is it?
Paul B Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 But thats hardly entertainment, is it? Depends on the nurse, mate. Depends on the nurse!

It's the same as that recent show with the economist looking for money for nurses off footballers. Why footballers? Why not businessmen? There is an incredible amount of wealth held in offshore accounts by the elites. I've read estimates of something obscene like a third of the worlds wealth - it runs upward of ten trillion ... Footballers are just rich, the problem is with the wealthy - thats where the vitriol should be directed.
