Says Roy Collins of the Telegraph :

Scousers are not normally left behind the eight-ball when it comes to getting tickets for big occasions, but they seem to have missed a trick over the Champions League final against AC Milan in Athens.

Liverpool fans are furious that the club have received only 17,000 tickets for the 72,000-capacity Olympic Stadium, which will allow in only 63,800 for the final because of Uefa advertising hoardings.

Yet until Feb 19 these fans, like any other members of the public, could have applied directly for two tickets apiece from UEFA's official website. More than 9,000 final tickets are distributed this way every season. Wakey, wakey Scousers.

I did apply as it was the only chance for me to get a ticket. Didn't get one.

Would like some transparency into how the UEFA ballot was done

BTW anyone know if there is still any chance of getting returned UEFA-tickets thinking people supporting all sorts of clubs probably applied and not all of them likely to attend the final.

Or are they all ending up on the black market?

A whole 9000 tickets spread around the whole of Europe. Yep we sure missed a trick on that. And I did apply through UEFA.

I can imagine lots of Chelsea fans probably bought their tickets in february. And probably booked they're flights and hotel rooms as well. And booked their holiday from work. And cancelled the papers. And booked the cat into a cattery. And asked their mums to water their plants. And probably even booked themself a table at Athens McDonalds for a celebratory meal after the match. :D

What a tool. His next article will be on how UEFA's ticketing system allows 9,000 tickets to be sold at 10 times the face value (and more) on ebay and it's like. The stupid, thick, lazy c*** of a journalist.

btw, for those annoyed enough.....roy.collins@telegraph.co.uk

If 9,000 scousers had bought tickets in Feb and we hadn't made the final this article would be moaning about how ebay is littered with Liverpool fans' tickets who stupidly pre-bought them.

That fat fella who writes in the News of the World made some comment about how all the Scousers complaining wouldn't have far to go to get black market tickets "judging from the accents he heard touting tickets last year in Paris" or something

Precisely. Replace the word "scouser" with "jew" or (forgive me for using this) " "n*gger" , and you get a pretty accurate idea of what the right-wing press, tories in general and chelk$ski fans think of the city and its people.
