Bit of a hypothetical one this.

 

In view of the aggro at Uniteds games in Lille and Rome, tonights hassle at the Spurs game and to a lesser extent the problems Kev outlined at the PSV game, are we a big riot or serious casualty away from another European ban on English clubs?

 

There's been so much of it over the last couple of years in Italy, Holland and the racist chanting etc that Uefa will eventually HAVE to be seen to do something.

 

Could we be the unlucky recipients of any sanction they may make?

Yeah, but in fairness English fans abroad haven't really done much over the years to alter that view. I'm referring to the Ingerlund brigade obviously and a minority of g*******s following their clubs abroad.

they should ban all english teams apart from Liverpool (and everton for comedy value), as liverpool fans are the best behaved usually and we are the only ones who can win in europe anyway

according to some italian on radio today it is always reported in italian newspapers that 3000(or whatever number of fans are travelling) hooligans are coming, never calls them fans always hooligans.

We've had that. 'The Liverpool Hooligans Are Coming' was one headline back in the 90's.

 

I really hope that the Roma fans are treated with the same respect at Old Trafford and I really hope that they are kept in for 90 minutes at the end

What started off as a great week on Tuesday has turned thoroughly depressing with the trouble of the last two nights. I can't remember the last time I watched a game and was more concerned with what was going on in the stand than on the pitch. It really did remind me of the bad, old days.
