Did I hear it right that one of the Sky commentators during the match said... the word was out that Liverpool had paid £10m for Mascherano?

I don't usually listen to the waffle they come out with, so did I mishear it?

Yep, he said that was the rumoured price we paid for him.

(From the VIP Section -Hospitality area) of the North Stand :bleh: yesterday I though Mash was the best player!

I agree - I think only him, agger and carragher played well. The rest were average at best.

That VIP section got obstructed views? He was abysmal.

second half, he was one of our best players. first half he was wayward with some passes

He wasnt abysmal at all, he was sloppy at times but at others he played some lovely passes and tackled well. He did his job, he also had f*** all movement infront of him most of the time.

For his 2nd start in f***ing ages he done well.

Totally agree. Because of the lack of movement around him a few times he was forced into longer diagonal balls which didnt all come off. Worst thing about that was gerrard b******ing him though. If your not going to get yourself into space dont b****** a lad in his second start with no options in front of him. Also he was outnumbered in midfield as villa had 5 in there. All in all he had a very decent game. Dont know why west ham never picked him hes f***en better than what they been playing instead.

Did the announcer yesterday also say that our substitute coming on was Fabio Alonso? May have misheard

????

Centenary Suite (or whatever)?

I was there with Phil C

We got moved at the start of the second half because apparently some Villa fan sussed we were Liverpool fans.

We had just been discussing the game between us, no shouting, singing, cheering etc.....

Even the head stewards thought he/she/they where a bunch of whingers.

If I had known I would have been singing "Fields of Anfield Road! etc through out ;)

****ing small time supporters, some of the **** they were coming out with when watching their team.

Anyway, the food was nice ;)

Cheers Phil.

Totally agree mate..Bit rusty in 1st half (to be expected) but got on the ball quite a lot 2nd half and as you say there were times when he looked up for runners and no one was showing so he either hit it long or passed back. Loved his run in the 2nd hald on the right touchline where he beat 2 or 3 players but dribbling past them

Mascherano might be good defending, but his passing ability seemed on par with Sissoko vs. Villa...

We need to keep a hold of Xabi.

PS: And I love that we have mascherano here as hes an amazing young talent we have.

you just made that up
