Love this when the failed ex-Real Madrid manager talks about investing in youth - and the two in the picture cost nearly 40 million pounds!!

how is that not 'investing in youth' though? they invested a lot of money and a lot of time in two young players and are now seeing the benefits.

can't see a problem with the piece myself.

caveat - all mancs are c****.

See johngibo's post. It's not being paranoid or bitter to suggest that the implication Queiroz is trying to make is that Rooney and Ronaldo are an example of United's romantic nurturing-of-youth-above-all ethos, supposedly an unbroken golden thread back to the Busby era but in reality consisting of George Best (as a result of United's policy of cynically sweeping Ireland for any decent player, a leechy and uneven symbiosis that leads some poor deluded FAI- and IFA-heads alike to think they have some special relationship with the using c*nts) and then that shower of talented f*ckers from the '90s.

I think that he is being disingenuous to be honest. If he had said, paying top dollar - and very much over the odds - for two highly promising players that required very little scouting and were very well known is the way to develop youth, I would be less cynical.
