Wheather may make tomorrow's journey

With the forecasted snow overnight, and the prospect of the Pennines to negotiate, it could be a trecherous trip to Geordie-land tomorrow. We normally go over Skipton/Harrogate/Ripon to A19/A1 way but that could be off tomorrow. It might be better going up the M6 but then you've got to go over the A66 and cross the Pennines there. Don't want my tickets to go to waste and not get there. Anyone ever been there by choo-choo?

Swings and roundabouts though, really. The snow is worse further south and so the M62 might be bad over Saddleworth. Either way, it's them bleedin' Pennines that'll do yer!

M6/A66/A68 to durham, will bring you out just before sunderland on the A1

 

if the A66 is closed due to snow, go to M6 Carlise and straight across the A69 into Newcastle
