but what are they charging away fans at OT?

Pete Boyle is organising a protest for Fulham next month, which UWS fully endorses. Here's the text to a flyer that will be handed out outside the Craven Cottage.

ATTENTION ALL UNITED FANS!

HOW MUCH MORE ARE YOU PREPARED TO TAKE?

Fulham have charged us £45 today.

For the same seat they charged us

£32 and £25 over the last two seasons!

This season, to sit in the same seats, they charged the following fans these prices:

? £35 - Newcastle, West Ham, Spurs and Portsmouth

? £30 - Blackburn, Middlesboro, Everton, Reading, Watford and Aston Villa

? £25 - Manchester City

? £10 - Wigan

Man Utd fans are ripped off by all other clubs and something surely has to be done!

Blackburn charged Bolton £15 and us £36. Wigan charged Chelsea £15, us £35.

All the experts are crying crocodile tears, saying football is too expensive when the

cameras flash around thousands of empty seats at most grounds each and every week.

Yet what are these clubs doing?

Charging Man Utd whatever they want because we always sell out our allocation anyway.

These clubs are using our loyalty as an excuse to turn the other cheek!

Middlesbrough recently charged Liverpool fans £25 and the following game charged us £31.

We urge all reds today to go in and support the shirts but don't purchase anything in CRAVEN COTTAGE

No beers, teas, soft drinks

No programmes

No betting

No pies

If a few thousand reds don't buy a thing in the ground maybe we can persuade Fulham to reduce their prices to a reasonable price for next season. Then maybe we can alert other clubs of similar action in advance.

STAND UP AND BE COUNTED!

Price of tickets is getting a bit silly everywhere. There's been a number of games on the TV recently, where the grounds look half empty. With the new bumper tv deals coming through next season, it might be time for some clubs to look at ticket prices.

If there's no atmosphere in the grounds/empty seats all over the place it will be a less appealing product for tv I would have thought.

Small piece in the Mirror today about a woman who bought her husband a season ticket for Utd for his 40th. She bought it in September for £550, but as his birthday wasn't until Jan, she thought it best to save it til now as a surprise for him. As a result he has missed 11 home games and some cup games.

i think the point is they charge away fans the same no matter what club they are supporting, rather than charge some more

Well we have Cat A and Cat B tickets for home supporters.

Supply and demand for away supporters too. Even if it is only the 2 quid difference.

I guess Fulham and the likes would argue they are offering incentives to fans of poorly supported clubs, as aposed to increasing prices for well supported clubs.

Basic Economics in theory, but in practice I feel it wouldbe fairer to find some kind of middle ground price and charge it across the board. Perhaps with 2 levels only, as per our Cat A/B which just about every club uses for home fans.

That being said, I think the rule is that you can't charge away fans more for their ticket, than you charge home fans for a seat in the same stand ? If they are not breaking that rule, then there's not a lot can be done.
