Guest Anders Honoré Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Poor guy. Soon as I saw the lineup I feared we might be jinxed. Everytime he plays, we concede a shetload of goals; I dread to think what his Goals Against to Games ratio is. It hasn't helped that he has only played in secondstring games, but it's gotta be a real blow for the lad.
R A Softlad Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Would have been compacted by the inclusion of Hobbs.
Guest BigChief Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 He is the reason we're so dreadful in defence. That freekick against Baptista he gave was idiotic and he should have held Alidere at the corner flag instead of trying to rugby tackle him down and letting him run past. Dreadful defender.
Guest RedLegend Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Makes Sami look like Carl Lewis over the turf.
jimmylibel Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Ah leave off, he's been diving in that just needs to be coached out of him. He slipped for the last one. Don't think he's been helped by having Sami next to him this evening. He also set up two goals this evening.
McBain Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Probaby the worst performance by a liverpool defender i've seen in my time
Foo Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Both he and Hyypiä were very poor tonight. Gabriel seems to be awfully slow though and that was even more visible tongiht as most Arsenal players are quick and that is a concern.
Gomez Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Doesn't look great does he?He can tackle like but everything else is poor, and even then he dived in for their 5th and should not have been beaten for their 6th. Clearly though, must be Dudek's fault.
IgPig Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 He was the least of out problems. 1st half was fine, and the free kick was never a free kick. Franz Beckenbaur (sp) could have been playing in that defence tonight and he would have looked like Darren Purse.
Guest Sabre Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 He kept getting too tight to Aliadiere...strange performance but he was out of his depth tonight. Saying that, so was Peltier. He's so horribly average.
Bailo Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 What I don't understand is, being an Argie, why the f*** doesn't he just chop people down? Their last, just bring the f***** down.
Hugh Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 He's a kid. He'll be traumatised by tonight but he'll learn. There were some good tackles amongst the parts where Aliadiere took the piss. Wouldn't give up on him yet by a long shot.
Atticus Finch Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Remember he speaks little or no english - that cannot help particularly when trying to defend as a unit. He does look very rough though - I would loan him out to get him games, although who would want to take him after that?
Kite Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 f*** sake, he's a young player who hardly speaks a word of English. What do you expect? Give the lad a break, it will take more than a few months to see how capable he may become. Peltier wasn't exactly a shining light on the right either for that matter.

G Richards Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 I have to say that Palletta has not really impressed me in the bits I've seen of him. Normally when you get a young player who is going to make the grade, you see flashes of something that make you look beyond the mistakes and raw play and hope for better to come. I just don't see that with Palletta. We need to sign a commanding central defender. Hyypia is fading fast and Carra and Agger leaves us too thin on the ground. Palletta is too far behind first team level to be considered.
Swipe Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 He's only ever been abysmal when i've seen him. Send him out on loan or get rid, and buy a proper defender.
Silencio Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 Dreadful night for the lad. I ain't givin' up on him and Rafa isn't either.

Why the Feck is a top club like Liverpool signing a Young lad who can't speak English and looks slow as Sami and playing him in a Cup Quarter Final. Baptiste could barely speak English but he is a tried and tested youngster. There is a big differnce.

And I can't believe you're comparing him to Baptista who Arsenal bid ?20 million for the summer he went to Real Madrid. He's also a good bit older than Baptista.
