Great overall attitude and workrate today. This is how we need to play every game (e.gB'burn away). I wouldn't reward Kuyt with 8 though.

The attitude was great, was impressed with the 10 mins after half time especially, but more composure and we could have made it more comfortable. Hats off to Carra and for Gerrard and Alonso covering back well as the game was sailing over their heads, well in the manager with some cute changes.

Carra MOM, Alonso was excellant and finn, garcia, agger, and the front two were good.

Riise was poor. Aurelio average.

 

Pennant was crap. 2 men in the box v one defender and he skies the cross over the goal, and then has a smile on his face. he lost the ball, could not cross, and at one stage ran into one of our own players and knocked the ball to a spurs player

I thought we seriously missed his ability to hold a ball when he came off. He very rarely wastes possession and almost always finds a red shirt.

Ok, showed some good touches, probably tried to be too cute at times when we just needed to keep the ball and relieve pressure, should really win more in the air but we knew that

Interesting that none of you have given Stevie Gerrard top marks.

 

I listened to the commentary on Radio Merseyside and they kept saying that he was virtually winning the game on his own!

 

I appreciate our captain as much as the next fan, but the media seem to feel the need to exaggerate his contribution to every match.

He had a decent game - nearly scored an own goal and was out of position on several occasions

 

His very good player counterbalanced his not-so-good play - leaving him with a very respectible and well earned 6 points

Good disciplined shift, but the ball spent far too much time in the air 2nd half for him to do much more. Great pressing and determination for the goal
