specifically the Charlton away game on the 16th. Am over there the night before for an evening function and can't get myself back in time to get to the game itself, much to my disgust. So have now booked an afternoon flight so I can settle in and watch it somewhere in Dublin. Any ideas? Preferably central so I can fit in a bit of shopping beforehand.

Hows it going.. There is a pub just up Near Stephen's Green Shopping centre. It's up the top of Grafton Street so it's central to the shopping area of Dublin. Not 100% sure of the name. Its down some stairs. Its on South King Street.

What time is your flight ? Just be aware that it can take anything up to an hour to get through security in Dublin airport these days, add to that the time it takes to get to the airport and you might need to give yourself a few hours. Took me 40 minutes to get through security last Friday week.

3:40 ish. Took about 30 mins the other day at around 5 : 30 ish on a working day. Will have to decide how to get back there - whether I leave my bags at the hotel, go back there and then have a pre-booked car pick me up for the airport. Game should be over by 1:30, so would have to leave fairly sharp after the game.

:nono: K.O. is at 12.45 so it won't be over until 2.40pm. Best watch it at the airport mate.

Sinnots.

Terri if you do watch the game in town, its a good place to go. I watched a couple of Liverpool games there when I was working in Dublin last year. There are loads of shops around there too.

They don't have Sky in Dublin airport. I missed the derby last season because of it.

Thanks for all the good advice. Looks like i have screwed up here in my flight times and wont get to see it at all, as I need to be at the airport during the second half. Might try and change flight and get back in time to race home and see it on tv.

They do have some sort of sky package at the airport - in Ryanair's A terminal - in the bar by the Ryanair gates - I saw the first half of the derby there last year or the year before..

Tetti: you could make your way to Santry area watch the game and grab a cab to the airport right after. You could brave the Rocket or the Swiss cottage (you'll probably not talk to me afterwards tho ;) - altho in the last 4 or 5 years they could have been done up etc) - you're about 15/20mins from airport there -even the buses to the airport pass by outside the door..

Perhaps you'd be better off watching it in the airport nice and early and relaxed for your flight...
