Yep, I'll be there from the Monday til the Thursday

Despite some c**k of Liverpool fan in town later on last night saying everyone would be knifed to death before going on a rancid racist assault on everyone Turkish.

Told him he was a f***ing bellend - which went down well :)

Go to Turkey quite a lot and Liverpool tend to get on well with the Turkish people - should be a really good away game.

Going on a day trip, got ripped off by travel agent c*nts, paid ?1000 and then they cancelled the trip, saw the next day they were selling the same trip for ?1500 through their sister company. Ended up paying ?1500 to someone else.

Hope it's worth it after all this...

I thought I was paying quite a lot £400 for a return flight from mancland and staying in a very nice hotel in Istanbul for 3 nights (Swimming Pool, Sauna, Jacuzi, Terrace bar, Safes in the room, Air Conditioning, Free breakfast - looks very nice)

I'm going, also on the Monday morning Easyjet, I should be able to jump the queue for boarding as I'll have a senior citizen with me.

The bad news is they are knocking the 330ml Kronies out for £3.

Liverpool today warned fans going to the Champions League game against Galatasaray on December 5 that they may face a difficult journey out to the Ataturk Stadium.

A club spokesman said: “We have been advised by the Turkish authorities that taxis from Istanbul will only be able to get to within 2-3 km of the stadium, to the point where a security blockade will be in place. Supporters will have to leave their taxis there and complete a 20 minute walk to the ground. There will also be no taxis allowed outside the stadium after the game for the return journey back into the city centre.

“Clearly, we want our supporters to be able to access the stadium as conveniently as possible and we have asked the Turkish authorities to provide dedicated buses to take Liverpool fans directly from the city centre to the ground itself. We are yet to receive a response, but will continue to press for an answer and will keep all our fans fully up to date when we get that information.

“We’d also urge all supporters to leave for the ground in plenty of time. The journey may take longer than expected for the reasons outlined earlier and we already know there will be only two access points for the Liverpool fans when they actually get to the stadium

“We’ve been allocated an area in the opposite end of the ground to where we were for the Champions League Final. Fans should be aware, however, that the seats are uncovered and should take suitable clothing for what may be a very cold and wet evening.”

Local laws and customs

It is an offence to insult the Turkish nation or the national flag, or to deface or tear up currency.

Do not take photographs near military or official installations. You should seek permission before photographing individuals.

The export of antiquities is against the law.

Personal security

In Turkey, as elsewhere you should take care and use your common sense. Please bear in mind the following points:

Carry photo ID with you at all times, preferably a photocopy of the data page of your passport. It is a legal requirement to carry identification in Turkey.

Do not let your belongings or valuables out of your sight, or leave them unattended in public places.

Do not openly display the location of your money, passport or other valuables.

Do not accept invitations to bars from total strangers.

Do not accept food and drink from strangers as it might be drugged.

Drugs

DO NOT get involved with drugs in any way. Penalties are severe.

Police

The police have the right to detain anyone found drunk or disorderly or who appears to be so. The penalties vary from a fine, which can be high, to being detained. If you are detained by the police you should ask to call a consular representative at the British Consulate General. Do not resist arrest or become aggressive.

I'd have thought drugs would be compulsory if you are marching there and back through the taxi exclusion zone.

I could have got a 2-day-trip fr ?950, but they sold out fairly quickly. Apparently around 10,000 went over from Ireland.

So as those two are maybe 15 mins walk from each other it could be anywhere.

I'm assuming Murph doesn't mean the grand bazaar. Right, can't find a map with it on but it might be the oblong shaped square (yeah i know) in front of the blue mosque.
