I'm getting to Cardiff about 12ish and would love the chance to meet up with some of the regulars on here - lord knows why!

 

So which boozer do folks tend to meet up for a pre match shandy?

Driving down late Saturday and staying over Sunday night. Not sure I will make it to the pub Sat night so will take my own for the hotel bar

You can go in pubs if you like, but the best place is the square outside the cardiff arms, near the NCP car park, everyone stands there singing and drinking crates from nearby offeys!!!

 

Cant wait will be a buzz!

Traditionally in the UK - most pubs tend to sell beer yes.

as people have already said ......get yerself to the offie and buy a load of cans and sample the atmos outside the city arms....you can't beat it.

I have an interesting story to tell you all about the City Arms. This story isn't for the faint-hearted.

 

Many years ago a few friends and I were on a big, long session in the Cardiff City Centre on a rugby international day. Anyway, we ended up in the City Arms and my one friend (Westie) had run out of money. So, he gets up on a chair and says that if they pass a glass around the pub and collect money, in return, he would stand on the bar and drink a pink of p*ss.

 

The place was packed and they all went for it and they collected about fifty quid.

 

Westie goes into the corner and fills the pint glass as full of his p*ss as he can, and then calls one of my other mates over to fill it up, which he does.

 

Westie gets up onto the bar and knocks the pint of p*ss back. Everybody is howling and cheering and Westie wipes his chin off.

 

We stagger out of the pub and Westie is starting to feel really rough. We walk down St. Mary's Street and as you know, on a Saturday night, the place it really buzzing. All of a sudden, Westie just loses it and sh*ts his pants.

 

It was everywhere, and these girls are walking down the road and starts shouting at him that he is a dirty b*stard. So, Westie promptly tears off his trousers, pulls off his t*urd-filled undies and chases the girls down St. Mary's Street until he catches them and throws them as the mouthiest one hitting her right in the back with it.

 

He got arrested. But, ironically he's a copper himself now.

For reasons outside my control, my hotel booking is now screwed and I am short of a room for saturday night. Anyone got anything spare they havent cancelled?

Unfortunately not Andy. My Mum and Dad just got here on Wednesday so I couldn't.

 

Just being curious that's all.

 

But, I have a recommendation for you. Check out "The Vulcan" near the jail. There's no pub like it.

 

Just for one...

 

Try to get down the Bay also. It's really good I promise you.
