I think the plan is for a 4-4-2 and a 4-2-3-1 and maybe if we get alves we can play a 5-3-2 with Alves and Aurelio as wing backs.

is he playing outfield now?

you say 4-4-2

not 1-4-4-2 you muppet.

Sorry just following on from Kev's inclusion of Reina in his formation, in hindsight I should have eluded to that or at least used a smilie! I shall go forth and flog myself with some nettles!

Beautiful in what sense? Does 'attacking football', (and i use those words together in their most general and broad terms) really equate to Beauty? Not for me, what makes for a beautiful game is the competitiveness and will-to-win. If you played a 1-1-8 formation you would be commiting a football suicide equivilant to chucking the game.

Not that I think for one moment that Dule or Cantona would ever consider 1-1-8 to be a formation of use to anyone but clowns, but it's this 'Joga Bonito' circus that gets on my t1ts. Are any of these sideshow ball jugglers any more a footballer than Carragher or Makele or Cannavaro or Gattuso? 'No' is of course the answer.

That fat cont would be better off trying to persuade everyone to like basketball. Constant attacking and scoring. Great! Except there's only one minute of a basketball game thats worth watching and thats the last one.

I think we'll play quite a bit of 4-5-1 (or 4-3-3 however you wish to call it) with three in the middle and the two wide men supporting the striker. Which is probably why a right midfielder is more important than a forward.
