I cant believe the liverpool fans on there having a go at Harry Kewell, saying he should have carried on and couldnt get off quick enough. I dont see them having a go at Alonso. And even comparing Kewell with people like Gerrard, Harewood etc is not on .. if we still had subs they would have been off too .. completely different situation. Ive never rung any phone in but listening to this sh*te, Im tempted.

rafa must be concerned that kewell has now not contributed in 3 major finals

we must agree that we need 11 players perfoming at their best in a cup final

The way some folk talk you would think Kewell gets injured on purpose. Our squad is stronger with him around. As long as his wages make sense and we can afford to have him then I don't see the problem if he stays. He has played well this season, not brilliantly I will admit, and deserves to hang around imho. I don't see any problem with Rafa buying another winger... sure it is good to have alternatives in every position.

 

Simple fact that is it is easier to talk negative rubbish on a crappy phone-in show rather than actually praise a team who played their hearts out today. We won ffs!

the point has now been made that when Kewell came off no subtitutions had been made. Did they expect us to play with an injured player when we had subs ready to come on?

Shouldnt get worked up about this really, but Kewell has contributed to this cup, hes nothing to answer for. Theres no way anyone should be able to ruin this for him given his past experiences in finals.

I am not the greatest fan of Kewell but he did have a pretty decent seaon and has played well in Cup games.

 

He should not have started against AC Milan and should have come off, when injured, today. We had three subs and needed a healthy body. The poor choice would have been to stay on the pitch and possibly hurt his side.

Mark Gonzalez hasn't played a minutes football in this league yet. Lets just wait and see eh.

 

And how about this - competition. Whatever happens next season, Gonzalez gives us depth and competititon.

 

Harry Kewell got injured, get off his case. He's had a good season for us, and has been a big part of us getting to this final in the first place.
