You’ve just also described Madueke. He’s a decent player, this is just about levels and think we should be aiming higher. Rayan who is 19 has already looked better in 6 months. imo. if Minteh signs then I hope he’s awesome but I’d be disappointed if it meant we don’t try for Rayan in January.

I’d be more than happy with Szoboszlai playing on the right tucking in and using Frimpong from right back for width. Given Wirtz is going to play behind Isak I’d rather Mac allister / Nyoni plays alongside Gravenberch in CM than Szoboszlai. It’s possible Rayan’s form dips but still think he has much higher potential than Minteh.

I’d rather see how Rayan starts the season and if he kicks on move for him in January knowing he will have a release clause. Minteh won’t be available until end of October as well.

Problem with Minteh is he’s a ‘make do’ signing. Better than nothing and I don’t think that’s how we should be operating.

Do you think? I think he often flatters to deceive. Think his league numbers were about on par with a finished Salah last season.
