I'm not suggesting it is. In the past we have been guilty of over paying for all our signings... which was absolutely mental. My point is that if the club identifies a target which they think will be vital to the team and Rodgers' footballing philosophy, then IMO the club may need to dig deeper. If they're looking at Sigurdsson as purely a squad player than I agree, "here's our offer... take it or leave it."

Massive uncertainty with the current managerial limbo, no CL and most probably face losing some star players.
