  1. Kenny: cash no the problem "The finance is there. Everything is in place but it's difficult to get players out of other clubs at this time," said the Scot. "If we do not get anyone it is not for the want of trying."
  2. Surely Lucas is injured?
  3. It's just a negotiating tactic. We've offered 4m and they quote 14m hoping we'll meet em somewhere in the middle at 8/9m.
  4. I dont blame Ajax for not wanting this to happen 5 mins from the deadline
  5. @SkysportsPeteO: Skysports.com understands Wolfsburg have made a bid for Liverpool forward Milan Jovanovic.
  6. Sign that pieces might be falling into place? http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11906_6702117,00.html
  7. I'd say the additional clips have been leaked by fellow employees who have probably had a gutful of the c***
  8. Sky news is going with that as their main story. The presenter ended the story with words to the effect... "an unfortunate end to Andy Gray's career..." looking ever so slightly smug

  15. I am started to get that feeling myself. I'm really hoping its not the same old story of quibbling over 2 or 3 mill. Splashing out now could be the difference to qualifying for Europe next season which in itself would cover the additional cash. Obviously we dont know the exact figures and Ajax could be trying to swindle £30mill out of us
  16. "And as far as Suarez is concerned, at the moment there is no dialogue with Ajax." - Comolli http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_6684117,00.html Surely thats a mis-translation? With 11 days to go you'd think we are engaged in round the clock dialogue to try and secure our top targets
  17. Yeah was thinking that myself as I read the article. Pepe could rig explosives to his balls to go off if he leaves the club and the hacks would still carry on questioning his commitment
  18. http://www.google.com/hostednews/ukpress/article/ALeqM5haUYywqSh4mJcD2L1d3eZQSA2c_A?docId=N0274891295553664790A Reina committed to Liverpool Liverpool goalkeeper Jose Reina has reiterated his commitment to the long-term contract he signed last year and is confident he will win trophies with the club. The Spain international, who has captained the side in the absence of the suspended Steven Gerrard, has been linked with other clubs but has always insisted he wants to remain at Anfield. And while the 28-year-old admits there have been some tough low points this season he believes they are reaching a turning point. "I signed a new contract last summer and still have more than five years left to run on it," he told the club's official website. "Obviously, I want to be part of a team that has the chance to win the title and to play with the best players - but I expect that to happen here at Liverpool, and for the club to return itself to that level. I plan to stick with my contract." He added: "There have been moments when we've not played well, where it's been difficult to stay upbeat and positive, but this is football - and you have to fight every day to become a greater team. "When things have gone badly for us, I've tried my best to do my bit to improve the team - there is no point being sad, so I've tried to be positive at all times. "We are sailing on the same ship and we all want the team to produce the results which we're capable of. "All I can do from my position is support my team-mates and play my own part. 19. Are we signing anyone or what! I'd settle for signing a new tea lady
  20. I wonder if we've tried/are trying to get this lad. Bags of potential http://www.metro.co.uk/sport/football/853126-alex-oxlade-chamberlain-arsenal-transfer-hijacked-by-manchester-city Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain Arsenal transfer 'hijacked by Manchester City' Arsenal look set to lose out on Southampton prodigy Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain with Manchester City said to be tabling a mammoth £10m deal for the 17-year-old. Man City look set to steal the signature of Southampton's Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Arsenal (Pic: Action Images) The Gunners were in the box seat to sign the talented youngster but City have put Eastlands heavyweight Brian Marwood on the case to ensure Oxlade-Chamberlain becomes part of Roberto Mancini’s legacy. Arsenal had been prepared to offer Southampton £5m for the technically gifted player but the Saints are looking to maximise the sale with an offer of £10m. Unable to compete with Manchester City over a figure that size, any attempts Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger had of bringing him to the Emirates look all but redundant. Sources close to the Oxlade-Chamberlain camp have indicated talks with Southampton about leaving the club are almost ready to begin this week . Southampton manager Nigel Adkins has insisted any move Oxlade-Chamberlain makes away from St.Mary’s will be in his best interests as a developing player. Eager to make a move to the Premier League, Oxlade-Chamberlain's camp has had discussions with Southampton chairman Nicola Cortese in the past, but voiced their concerns over a lack of communication between the parties. A product of the Saints youth system, Oxlade-Chamberlain has made 16 appearances this season scoring a total of seven goals. 21. I'm not for one minute suggesting that our current owners are comparable to mortimer and randolph but I'm just a bit weary of all this talk of spending big etc... Maybe I just need another coffee and a fryup to stop being a miserable c***
  22. tbh until I see major signings and a shovel in the ground/around Anfield it's all talk still, just with a better PR than the previous clowns
