  1. So his complaint can be summarised as not being played in games he thought he should have. Let us now see how much 'respect' he gets at Chelsea whilst sat on the bench. If he spends most of his time there then presumabley we will from him next year as to how Ancellotti destroyed his confidence.

  4. Precisely. Hopefully put to bed the nonsense that players cannot be expected to comment because they are involved in the World cup, going on holiday etc.
  5. "Of course I want to stay," Not hard is it?
  6. I would be hapy to contribute towards the costs of this excellent idea. I'm am sure others would too.
  7. But only if he promises to personally re-erect the Istanbul mural he is apparently planning to rip down at Melwood.
  8. This sounded a bit dramatic but you never know. From TLW Originally Posted by Medazza I am certain Purslow is a liar. I have a very good source who rarely passes stuff on but when it is it can usually be trusted. At the last meeting between Purslow, Rafa and Broughton Rafa was surprised that Purslow was there as he wanted to set out his position and problems to Broughton, on the basis that he was probably ignorant of the s*** that has been going on. Purslow asked Rafa if he had a problem with him. I believe Rafa said he did as he told lies. Purslow said if he could prove it he would resign. Rafa produced a dossier of all the stuff he has been up to. It seems he tells people what they want to hear and this has particularly wound up the likes of Gerrard and Torres. The crunch came over Yossi. I was told that Rafa commented on the deal that was almost reached with Chelsea for £5m (which I fear will still go through). Rafa said he could have got £8-10m out of Chelsea because from speaking to Ancelotti he was desparate to sign him to replace Joe Cole yet Rafa understood Yossi was told he could go for £5m. Purslow denied this was true and Rafa produced a letter between Yossi's agent and Purslow confirming it. After the meeting Rafa was certain he was safe and went off on hols thinking Broughton would have to back him. It seems he didn't because when it came to selling the club he thought having a manager who had forced out 2 successive MDs would be too powerful and dangerous. So Purslow only stayed because of this, he is known within the club to be a liar and all professions (players, journos, lawyers) think he is a total c*nt. You also may have noticed Macia is now Chief Scout on the website. AFTER the falling out Macia had with Rafa Purslow promoted him. It seems Macia was feeding Purslow s**** on Rafa (no doubt the 2 had confided before they fell out) because after the row Rafa had told Macia he would have to leave in the summer.
  9. He was appointed last June with his priorities stated as renegotiating the loan with RBS and assiting the manager with transfers. He's had it far too easy. Seems to baulk at any adverse publicity.
  10. http://www.anfieldroad.com/news/201007073751/forget-the-good-times-the-picture-has-changed.html/#more-3751 Forget the good times, the picture has changed Posted on July 7th, 2010 by Jim Boardman Christian Purslow told us he was here to find £100m of investment. Yet he turned people with money away without even the courtesy of saying “thanks but no thanks”. He left the manager with the wrong impression of what his transfer budget would be last summer then spent the months that followed watching him like a hawk at press conferences just in case he decided to mention it. It doesn’t take much imagination to work out how Benítez would feel to read in a national newspaper that he’d been warned to change his managerial style, or that he’d been given £20m net to spend on players when he’d actually brought more in than went out. Or how he felt to hear his boss had been talking to reporters about transfer discussions with Real Madrid that Rafa knew nothing about. This in a season when Purslow saw fit from time to time to invite select members of the press round for tea and biscuits. When Martin Broughton was brought in as Chairman, above Christian Purslow, it ruffled the feathers of someone who acted like the club was his own personal empire. There was no point Rafa meeting Broughton, the would-be emperor said, because Broughton wasn’t here to deal with issues like that; he was only here to sell the club. So the emperor kept the momentum against the manager going in the press. We saw leaks about cancelled meetings and unhappy players; he saw no problem in leaking that they were trying to ditch Rafa on the cheap before the deal was even struck – but when those leaks were later confirmed by an official announcement it would be his new boss’s name on the statement. Kenny Dalglish’s name was also on the statement – although we understand he wasn’t asked or told in advance. When the new manager was officially appointed – after weeks of leaks claiming it was a done deal already – Purslow lurked out of sight of the press conference cameras. He left his new boss to introduce the new boss. He doesn’t have the power all on his own to hire or fire a manager, even if he can push for the decision to be made. But he has got the power to move photos and paintings from the walls of Melwood. For “Cecil”, as he’s known to many fans these days, that’s an important responsibility. So down the mural came. A show of strength from the little man. And anyway, it must be quite unnerving to have the eyes of the man you betrayed following you around the room every time you arrive at work.
  11. Perhaps he should ask Jamie the same question as he says it is important that players like that stay. Will be a result if he can get one of the two to stay.
  12. Good summary of the duplicitious coward.
  13. Valid comment from Rafa recently how Alonso had a great first and last season for Liverpool.
  14. So that's the plan. They are bringing back Gary Mac.
  15. Was that the i'm working on getting rid of the owners and Rafa in response to a question from a fan?
  16. Heard a rumour it was called off. The thread on here seems to have disappeared as well.
  17. Did the Standard Chartered event go ahead at Hope Street Hotel today?
  18. Can only pray this is right but i'd be careful about writing him off just yet. He has been here before and has shown that he has business acumen in leveraged buyouts, holding funds in offshore companies and basically just pummelling businesses into submission. This is very much his forte. There is no problem hoping for the best but with this character also assume the worst.
  19. Can anyone explain to me that if H&G have 'stepped aside' and RBS are beginning to call the shots, what the intercompany loan of 144 million between Kop and Kop Cayman is for?
  20. Absolutely. I was, if anything, inferring the opposite. It's an empty soundbite, pushing back the timeline from mid July to August.
  21. You are right he said hopeful and it was a poor choice of words by me.. But the point made still applies equally.
  22. He's been sending individual thank you cards to those that sent him goodwill messages. "Just to say thank you for your loyal support. You'll be always in my heart. Regards" YNWA.
  23. Whoa! You got me with that soldier. I’m done for. Pierced straight through the heart with one mighty rapier-esque flash of his bow. Awesome, mesmerising stuff. You are either not the brightest bulb left on B&Q’s reduced shelf or in your haste to offer a riposte to my point failed to read through the preceding posts to gather the flavour of the basis being advanced. For what it is worth, I will try one more time. It was being suggested that what was being offered was a soundbite, formulated for the ears of the fans with a view to placating them and putting a subtle damper on expectations following the well-repeated rumour that there would be a takeover announced in mid July. Instead, we are firmly told, that mid July is the first bid stage but that we should not worry as it will all be dealt with by the end of August. It is proposed that this is a tad optimistic if first bids closed mid July. Just to help you a little further, it was also suggested that as this period coincidentally also runs concurrently with the transfer window, it leaves open the possible eventuality that in the event of an ‘acceptable’ bid not materialising and also if a player or two made noises about wanting to leave then this may also occur. Stringing along the fans if you like. Please feel free to participate in this discourse or argument if you prefer to call it that, by commenting on a general level, agreeing or disagreeing (bullcrap) as it is all just supposition. However, please try to refrain to comments such as the bidding process might have started long ago or why should they tell fans anything as this is irrelevant to the point being made. Hope this helps.
  24. Still can't get my head around this. If they were in trouble, surely it is preferable to dilute your holding if the alternative is a forced sale?
  25. They will sell at their price. It doesn't hurt them, it's just business. If they don't get what they want they will move onto their stage two plan which is to sell players to service debt. Bank will not call it in if it is being serviced.
