Right, but the point is that if you look at his career stats, what he has contributed the idea of throwing a huge wage at him seems a tad daft. If Liverpool had caved in and paid over the odds after briefing the press about his wage demands being high, I would have been well pissed off.... Seems sensible to know what your prepared to pay and stick to that, if not where do you go? That applies to any player as obviously certain players market value is more than others
