  1. Giddy isn't the word. People talking of 50-60m spending sprees aided by 20m in sales are walking on the Yellow Brick Road and hang their clothes with a Lion and a Witch. Bloody hell, we got carved up in the market last summer after winning the European Cup; inagine the prices if the word on the streets is that our pockets are unnaturally padded.
  2. All of a sudden bingo wings are in fashion again.
  3. Shouldn't that read Meet the Manc
  4. She was very helpful and nice in renewing my (late) PTS membership this season. I've think I've listened to her voice more than the missus'.
  5. Leo, there's more chance of you writing a two word post than us spending 50-60m and/or raising 20m from sales. Seriously - investors or no investors folk need to lower there expectations a bit - else we'll be trawling through pages and pages of Parry threads for the second year running. I'd expect one, maybe two big signings around the 10m mark and a sprinkling of players to double-up in positions we already have covered. One thing I'm really positive about is that we have the likes of Gonzalez, Paletta and (maybe) Aurelio lined up before the window has even opened.
  6. Got any leftovers of what you're smoking David ?
  7. Every time I've seen him play (about 6-7 times) he's stunk the place out. Can't see him adapting to the physical nature of the English League either. Just another Joaquin, and suitably overpriced to boot.
  8. Cisse hasn't even got a sh*t creek let alone a paddle.

Bullsh*t, your honour ! Did you not see that ball he swatted out of the air against Monaco at home last season, the sublime lob against Norwich, the screamer against Juve, the wrong-footed pile-driver against Charlton. Christ, it's just like Danny Murphy all over again - the lad is never "mercurial" but he does the trick for me as a squad player, albeit more suited to home games or Europeans..... Anway, how could Smicer have been a better player he was always injured.
  10. But this article claims that Rafa was keeping his options open upto last weekend which means (going by this recent paper-talk) that people were right to sh*t themselves at the very prospect of him leaving. Those very people were slaughtered for having the temerity to suggest our manager might walk away due to lack of support.
  11. Not another bouncer from Edwards. When will it end ?
  12. Agree with Mike - it's feck all to do with Munich (originally) and totally reworded by the nouveau Scally brigade. Probably the same c*nts that sprayed that sickening sh*t all over Melwood. Think ROF's origins are before that Fulham away game aswell. Birmingham away 2003-04 (??) if I remember right...
  13. He wasn't at fault for the goal at all - Traore left him high and dry by trotting back into position while the ball was being contested in midfield - what the feck was he doing for all that time. Agger tried to split Pembridge and John but was beaten by a decent pass. It happens.

Without knowing the 'ins and outs' Rafa would be mad to sell him. Granted he's had a dip in form, but has also suffered through injury this season. A player can't be blamed for that, and a bit of slack is merited I think. As frustrating as he can be he adds an unpredictable element to the squad, something which a previous manager got villified for not "encouraging". He also seems to have a canny knack of popping up with valuable goals - a priceless asset.....
  15. Are we getting Ballack in return ?

  17. Use Google UK and search for: Ring of Fire remix+liverpoolway.co.uk
  18. Didn't an ex-Liverpool keeper reckon we were in for Defoe at the deadline of the January window ?
  19. Sublime. He has won the Cup for Liverpool all by himself. Tyldsley's edited commentary appears on that Ring of Fire Istanbul remix that was flying around a while ago. Quality.
  20. Not many can, but we're hardly in a position to quibble at the moment. I would say in Defoe's favour that he is extremely narrow-minded near goal and his scoring rate (a league goal every 1.96 games - from starts anyway) is good enough. If we can't get Owen, Defoe is about the only realistic and proven English alternative.
  21. My guess the striker is Defoe.
  22. Did the beach ball arrive with it ?
  23. He's a very, very influential player (too influential some might say), but I doubt he'll ever reach the level Souness was at, as a player or a captain. Also think too many people latch onto this "doesn't perform in the 'big games'" nonsense, like some accuse Henry of never performing in the big games because of his losers mentality. Gerrard performed superbly, in three different positions no less, at the highest level in club football on 25th May last season when it really counted. To imply he is a flat-track bully is wrong. I think he's destined to win everything with us though, he just needs a bit more quality around him in the final third of the pitch, which will probably see him improve even more.
