1. Curious: Jones hasn't travelled - Gulasci and Hansen have gone as the reserve keepers. I suppose it's because Jones wasn't registered for this round in the Europa.
2. You really are a whiny prick aren't you? No need for that comment.
3. Actually it's 30k. He never signed the new contract for the higher salary, remember? Not that it matters obviously. Fine his ass off. Till it bleeds
4. He's got two - Brazilian and Italian. No issues there. Unlike Leto or Gonzales etc Apparently had an agreement with the club that he could go free after 2 years if he wasn't 1st choice by this season. It's a short term carrot to keep our primary reserve keeper hungry and competing - 'you've got two years to break through at a good salary, if you don't make it, we'll release you to get a good contract elsewhere' However I've heard a report that we still own half of his rights. Not sure about that and not confirmed outside of Brazil.
5. 1. Gerrard 2. Torres 3. Skrtel
6. You're going to be disappointed then. It's permanent. Cavalieri was released from his contract. He's signed for Cesena on a one year contract with the option for a second. (Assuming he's number one and they stay up etc.) Cesena Official Site
7. Setting him up for the fall.......
8. More on the Aquilani loan: Season long loan: wages for the 10months which adds up to a bit over 3 million euros. ( Which means around 75k-80k a week. In euros. So this 90k pounds that we keep hearing might be including bonus for goals, assists and appearances, which won't happen now.) They both agree 16m euros is the purchase price. "I am happy to go back home, I was in a good state in Liverpool, but I need to play, possibly with some continuity, I can only thank Juventus for the opportunity they gave me. I hope that together we can achieve significant results. Back in Italy I also have the possibility to be followed more continuosly by the staff of the national team, I know that I can not expect anything, but the idea of turning out in 'the blue of the national side' I never put aside. "
9. yipee!
10. The ref got it right by mistake. Typical.
11. Agree with this completely. It makes players like Benayoun, Cole, Aquilani more important because of that ability. However people like Alonso, Pirlo, Riquelme have the ability to pick a pass that nullifies some of those tactics. Which puts into context Lucas - probably a very good player in other leagues, but without the smarts and game to either pick a player with a pass through the lined markers, or dribble through them himself. I think that's why he was adapted for another role - i.e. the Mascherano one by Rafa.
12. Around 1.3m euros apparently. And there is either a sell on clause for 25% or we still own 25% of him, not sure which. As for Aquilani: Tuttosport are claiming it will be Juventus for a right to buy for 16m euros.
13. 1. Jovanovic 2. Kyrgiakos 3. Poulsen
14. Jovanovic was signed by Rafa Wilson was scouted and the deal done before Rafa left, but put on hold till Roy was in Poulsen is Roy's. Never say never. Who knows what may happen in the future? After all, it was the Chinese consortium that 6-9 months ago was going behind the board and talking straight to Benitez about the football side of the club. Maybe they will bring him back; Rafa certainly feels that he has left the work unfinished. (as referenced through Montse when they left.) Quien sabe? Either way certainties in life don't exist, and if someone says otherwise, they're selling something.
15. More details from the Brazilian sites about Cavalieri: Shame about him going. he probably had the hottest Wag at the club: Not safe for work His agent: Juninho Parmigiani: “Ele precisa jogar para entrar na briga por uma vaga nesta renovação da seleção brasileira que está sendo feita pelo Mano Menezes”, “A negociação não foi simples. Pelo contrário. O Liverpool já tinha recebido propostas concretas pelo Diego Cavalieri em outras oportunidades, como a do Benfica, ano passado, mas o ex-técnico Rafa Benítez não o liberou”, " Foi uma negociação muito complicada, muito difícil de ser feita. Mas o Diego precisa jogar e não poderia mais passar um ano lá sem ser titular " "He needs to play so that he can fight for the place in the shake-up for Brazilian national squad that is happening by Mano Menezes" "The negotiation wasn't simple. On the contrary. Liverpool had already received concrete proposals for Diego Cavalieri in other opportunities, like one from Benfica, last year, but the ex-manager Rafa Benitez didn't let him go" "It was very complicated negotiation, very difficult to get done. But Diego needs to play, and couldn't allow another year without being 1st choice" And in another site: O jogador assinou a rescisão de contrato com o Liverpool e nesta quarta-feira pela manhã viaja para a Itália para se apresentar ao novo clube e fazer exames médicos. The player signed the rescision of his contract with Liverpool, and this Wednesday morning will travel to Italy to be presented with the new club and have the medical examination. The Italian club will keep 50% of the federal rights of the goalkeeper, who accepted a reduced fee and made an agreement with Liverpool to have the other 50%. Diego Cavalieri had an agreement with the English club that he could go free if the 1st choice Pepe Reina was still at the club this season. On another note: Italian media are saying we've bought a 14 year old Portuguese by the name of Iaia Embarlo from Oldham Athletic for an initial £25,000.
16. Probably keeping them as squad fillers for the homegrown quotient and the club trained quotient needed for Europe, until the U21 Squad matures sufficiently.
17. n'gog, gulasci, kelly and shelvey are U21 darby and spearing are 22
18. Updated with Jones in Cavalieri out - based on pre-season appearances and squad numbers. NON-HOME-GROWN [16]: Daniel Agger, Alberto Aquilani, Fábio Aurélio, Ryan Babel, Milan Jovanović, Dirk Kuyt, Sotirios Kyrgiakos, Lucas Leiva, Christian Poulsen, Pepe Reina, Maxi Rodriguez, Martin Škrtel, Fernando Torres, Javier Mascherano, Nabil El Zhar, Damien Plessis SENIOR HOME-GROWN [7]: Jamie Carragher, Joe Cole, Steven Gerrard, Glen Johnson, Stephen Darby, Jay Spearing, Brad Jones U-21 (Age 20 or below on the 1st of January 2010) [20]: David N'Gog, Jonjo Shelvey, Daniel Ayala, Dani Pacheco, Danny Wilson, Martin Kelly, Lauri Dalla Valle, Péter Gulácsi, Nathan Eccleston, David Amoo, Jack Robinson, Tom Ince, Victor Palsson, Steven Irwin, Jesus Fernandez (Suso), Raheem Sterling, Dean Bouzanis, Martin Hansen, Krisztián Németh, Emiliano Insúa Of the non-home grown - we're actively trying to sell Nabil El Zhar, and I assume Damien Plessis. While Mascherano has asked for a transfer. Of the U-21 lot - we're selling Insúa, and seem to be letting Németh leave.
19. On the re-cap list I've shifted him to the U21. He will though be constituted as home grown next season. If he's here.
20. Re-cap as a list: NON-HOME-GROWN [17]: Daniel Agger, Alberto Aquilani, Fábio Aurélio, Ryan Babel, Milan Jovanović, Dirk Kuyt, Sotiros Kyrgiakos, Lucas, Christian Poulsen, Pepe Reina, Maxi Rodriguez, Martin Škrtel, Fernando Torres, Diego Cavalieri, Javier Mascherano, Nabil El Zhar, Damien Plessis SENIOR HOME-GROWN [6]: Jamie Carragher, Joe Cole, Steven Gerrard, Glen Johnson, Stephen Darby, Jay Spearing U-21* [20]: David N'Gog, Jonjo Shelvey, Daniel Ayala, Dani Pacheco, Danny Wilson, Martin Kelly, Lauri Dalla Valle, Péter Gulácsi, Nathan Eccleston, David Amoo, Jack Robinson, Tom Ince, Victor Palsson, Steven Irwin, Jesus Fernandez (Suso), Raheem Sterling, Dean Bouzanis, Martin Hansen, Krisztián Németh, Emiliano Insúa *(Age 20 on the 1st of January 2010) This list is based on pre-season appearances and squad numbers. Of the non-home grown - we're actively trying to sell Nabil El Zhar, I assume Damien Plessis and Diego Cavalieri. While Mascherano has asked for a transfer. Of the U-21 lot - we're selling Insúa, and seem to be letting Németh leave.
21. No way Kuyt is a right midfielder. Much more likely: ---------------Reina---------------- Johnson--Carragher---Skrtel----Agger ---------------------------------------- -------Mascherano----Gerrard------ -------------------------------------- Kuyt----------Cole----------Jovanovic -------------------------------------- -----------------Ngog----------------
22. Yep for two years too. And as Carralegend said: isn't getting into their team.
23. When did that happen? I assume Insua and aurelio aren't signed up for this round, so Darby will be left-back
24. Can you give us a link for that? So NYR was right about him not bidding. or about to bid etc. So who put in the bid? Kirdi?
25. Corrected that for you.
