Sub human scum. Not getting your round is worse than murder. Its not that I'm being short changed - it's just shows how low your character is. That you can be that petty. That you feel you're getting away with something. You haven't. we've all noticed. And its not about financial machismo. If someone pipes up early doors and says 'I'm not going to be able to stay long enough to afford a full round' and declares skintness, that's only admirable. And no one wants to be in a round with 18 people, but always show some willing or appreciation for the basic principal of reciprocity. As for going to the bar first - I'll always try to , because a) I want to get it out the way and not ever be seen to be that guy who is holding back, and b) because it always gets busier later and its a bugger to get served - I'm happy for that to be someone else's problem.

We have to use our energy productively . No point sitting back and chasing shadows for 45 minutes . It’ll be just as exhausting as going for them. -

Take the game to them. Play as if we’re 1-0 down. -
I’d start for you, but then Pearcey will reveal it was all a wind up. I’ll look the giddy fool then won’t I . Oh, what the heck ..... 1) he’s free. Out of contract . 2) he can’t be as awful as we all think because he gets lots of games for a top side. 3) he might be a half decent defensive midfield option if you’re trying to close a game out . 4) he can head a football 5) he’s tall Maybe we want him as third choice keeper. That would make the most sense.

I’m arsed about the points.

Oh yeah. We’ll I’m currently in Portugal enjoying a well deserved fortnight break, but... I will be leaving my Algarve retreat for 24 hours, flying back to Liverpool and then back to Portugal, to support the mighty reds. Tell your lad to get his act together. -
European Cup Draw - SEMI FINAL Update
David Hodgson replied to Sir Tokyo Sexwale 's topic in Liverpool FC
This is our 10th season in the Champions league. -
It's not m8. We haven't bought anyone since we sold him.

I think the affinity is a product of those two Spanish sides being the best, most glamorous teams on the planet with the best most glamorous players on the planet playing for them. They are also in warm, glamorous locations. Players want : - to play for a team that wins Champions leagues regularly - in nice places - for lots of money - for teams that the most famous players in the world play for. Those are tough boxes to tick. We can try and tick just about one. Real and Barca are ticking them all, all of the time. It's handy we've signed a player that has turned out to be a world top 3 player in his first season. A player that has gone from being worth £35m to £200m in 8 months. If we could pull that trick off every year and sell that player at the end of every year we'd very quickly become the world's richest club. Say we sold Mo for £200m this summer. We'd then have £200m plus Coutinho's £142m burning a hole. Let's even let the owners off with a zero net spend, for argument's sake. £340m buys you a lot of replacement talent : Lemar £80m Werner £70m Pulisic £60m Zaha £60m Baily £60m There's 5 new attackers to partner with Mane and Firmino.

Vardy would be great for us, but isn't he about 35 now and a bad racist ?
-
I watched quite a bit of him as a kid. At his best he reminded stylistically of the wide version of Gerrard or Beckham.
-
I'd be very shocked if we let a play like him go after one year. We've never done that. The problem becomes that a marker gets put down for year 2. If he doesn't let up (form-wise), the pressure will be enormous by the end of his second season. In Salah's case, I'd fear all Egypt will want him to play for Real Madrid. His free will could be lost in the clamour for him to do so.

European Cup Draw - SEMI FINAL Update
David Hodgson replied to Sir Tokyo Sexwale 's topic in Liverpool FC
I think these games are going to be much cagier affairs than is the norm between us. I'd almost take 0-0 in the first leg. -
If we announced his signing on the pitch at Anfield would you attend ? I bet you would. I would. We'd all come over Umtiti's.

FC Porto vs Liverpool - Champions League - Wednesday 14 February

I think that's the right team. He will make more changes than that because there's little cost in doing so. Bringing in Moreno, Gomez, Klavan and Matip barely changes anything. Likewise bringing in Gini, Lallana and Milner. These aren't second tier players. They are interchangeable with anyone in Saturday's first 11. The only decisions he has to make are around the front 3. I think he'll just go with Mane because he's had the least minutes all season. -
I think that video just tells you that the person who made it knows very little about goalkeeping. That showreel could be replicated for virtually any keeper playing at a reasonable level. Some of those saves look exceptional, but the majority are just 'saves'. The only thing that really excited in that was the examples of his being quick back on his feet after a first save. Slightly worrying were the number of examples of him parrying shots back into danger. I'd like to know what he's like on crosses and set pieces. How he deals with one on ones. What's he like with his feet ? I'd like to see the ones he does let in. How quick is he to launch counter attacks ?

I’ve got kids. Too many. Don’t give a f*** about their future. I just want to watch super reds .
-
I'd have booted Moreno all the way up Walton Breck Road to get rid of him in the summer but he'd had a really good season before the injury (aside from Sevilla away). Far better level than you'd accept from certainly a second choice left back. Don't see the point of selling him unless we think he'll get too little football behind Robertson and will become overly frustrated. Selling Lallana would be crazy. He's a really good player.
-
Another Salah would be great cover for Firmino and give plenty of what Firmino does, but it won't make them the same player. Saying Firmino unique is not saying he can't be covered.
-
I think we’ve played 6 games this season with just 2 (or less) of the initial main 4, and won 5 and drawn 1. Palace (h) Stoke (a) Everton (h) Maribor (h) Burnley (a) Everton (h)
-
I think this is true. The beauty was being able to perm any 3 from 4.
-
Yep. There’s often talk about us needing to buy back up for him but you can’t . He’s unique.

Liverpool FC v West Ham United - Saturday 24 February - 3pm

I just think we've forgotten what it's like to have a keeper making actual decent saves. -
Sammy, please, stop making this one thing equals another. There’s no thin ends of wedges here. If someone believes Holgate was ruthless then that doesn’t equal that they think black people are prone to ‘playing the race card’. This doesn’t have to be about extremes or taking positions . Sometimes it’s just a narrow look at what’s in front of you. I don’t doubt that the pondering that Holgate may have invented a racist verbal assault suits the agenda of a racist. But what does that mean ? We shut down the conversation ? Any position can always be potentially exploited by an extremist. And the point can be paralleled for sexual assault too. We can know that people both don’t make sexual asssult claims or accuse others of racist abuse lightly , without also having to say that these things are impossible .
