It was a terrible pass. Awful from Lallana there. Across the keeper ffs.
-
Excellent from Clyne.
-
Going to be interesting to see how Lovren and Sakho get on.
-
I don't like that team at all, but f*** it, lets do this!

Watching in Butland in goal makes me wonder what on earth we are doing with Mignolet and Bogdan as our keepers. -

The Stoke v Utd game should be an interesting watch. Rooney on the bench. -
Our squad is so poor in so many areas. Not found out as such. More to do with other teams focusing on our weaknesses. We're too easy to play again. Also our players can't seem to get themselves up for the likes of Watford like they did with City etc.

We simply don't have enough goals in the team, hence why we struggle at home when we play 1 striker. Didn't work under Rodgers and hasn't really worked under Klopp. Playing 2 strikers instead of the likes of Lallana or Firmino creates spaces for others. Can't understand why Ibe isn't getting in the team. He's the only natural winger at the club and looks our most dangerous attacking player when he does play. In terms of what you said about Leicester sitting back, that's what every team does when they come to Anfield in any case.

Liverpool FC: Klopp reveals heart-to-heart to help Christian Benteke kickstart Anfield career 22:30, 25 Dec 2015 By James Pearce Reds boss has had 'really good talk' with spluttering striker over what is required Jurgen Klopp has revealed how he spelt out to Christian Benteke exactly what's required for him to succeed at Liverpool during a heart-to-heart with the striker. The Belgium international has endured a difficult start to his Reds career since his £32.5million move from Aston Villa last summer. Benteke, who has scored five goals in 17 appearances, was dropped to the bench for last weekend's defeat to Watford and then saw Divock Origi brought on ahead of him. Doubts persist over Benteke's ability to fit Klopp's style but the manager sat him down at Melwood ahead of the Boxing Day clash with Leicester City and talked him through the adjustments he needs to make. “Christian has trained well this week and we've had a good talk together,” Klopp said. “We know what he has to do and he knows what he has to do. “Everything is okay. He didn't lose his place in the squad. Sometimes you start, sometimes you don't. We have a lot of options so we have to make decisions. “In the offensive line we have three options so we decided to make changes last week. “Christian is completely clear. He knows. He's not saying 'let's wait and see'. He is working and he's trying to be better.” 'You can't always wait for headers' Klopp refused to go into detail over what had been discussed with the second most expensive signing in the club's history. But insisted Benteke can't simply wait to be supplied with crosses from wide areas. The Reds boss wants him to be more mobile and to get in behind defenders. “I don't like talking to you about things like this,” Klopp said. “Maybe it's my language, maybe it's you looking for sensations. It always sounds completely different to what I meant! “We are still at the beginning here. If you are the only striker at the club then you play all the time. “Every striker will say 'give me five games in a row and then you'll have the striker you want'. That's not possible here. “We have to try things, we have to create things, we have to change things because the number of games is a big difference. Three games a week or one game a week is a big difference. “Christian's biggest strength is heading so everyone is waiting for crosses. But you have two high towers, centre-halves, in the box. You can't always wait for that as that is only one situation in offence. “We need to create more moments for all our offensive players. We need to push up from centre midfield more and get into the box to create more opportunities. We need more movements together. “If we could train more often then Christian will see that it's easy. 'Go there, come here, go again'. “We have dominance in a lot of situations with our full-backs pushing up. We just have to make better decisions around the box. “For me and for Christian, it was a really good talk. Now we have made a few decisions and hopefully you will see the results of that.” http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-fc-klopp-reveals-heart-10651386

If true, disappointing. 2 strikers with Ibe instead of Lallana would have been the way to go.

Compelling watching. Shows the type of man he is. Also an inspiration to everyone around him, his connectivity with the fans at both Mainz and Dortmund. Had some terrible last day luck at Mainz as a player and manager. To miss out on promotion 2 years on the spin must have been like a kick in the b******s. Did well to come back from that to get promotion the following year.

He's always going to be suspect defensively and a weak link at the back. Much rather have a Clyne type for the left. -
That wasn't the one I was supposed to post.
-
Look at this one then. His passing and decision making is horrid at times. Our transfer committee have a lot to answer for.
-
Did some hunting on YouTube and found these: Look at how involved he is in the game.
-
I don't think anyone is writing off Firmino yet. Yes he needs time to settle, but his recent performances have been absolute w***. He's not even shown glimpses of what he did against CIty, he's shown nothing.

Lewandowski, Gundogan, Kagawa, Hummels, Subotic etc were all unknowns when he signed them. Are you telling me he didn't develop them into better players? His MO is working with younger players and making them better players. http://www.anfieldhq.com/chris-bascombe-exclusive-lfc-interview-december-2015/ Bascombe does actually talk a lot of sense during this. Interesting opinion on Sturridge's long term future at the club. Listening to this makes me think we may not bring in any players during January. Maybe we have to accept that changes to the squad will occur in the summer, however painful this season has been at times. Grujic and Matip are signs of that. No rumours of anyone leaving either. Klopp may bring in another defender as cover for Skrtel, but that might not even happen. -

Klopp bought quite a few of the Dortmund team under the age of 21 and developed them into the players they are now. -

Liverpool's Marko Grujic move plunged into doubt by his dad - who says 'the passports are with me - he is going nowhere' By Simon Jones for MailOnline Published: 11:08, 23 December 2015 | Updated: 11:07, 23 December 2015 The father of Liverpool target Marko Grujic says he is resisting a move to Anfield, despite the clubs agreeing a £5million transfer. Goran Grujic believes his son has been forced out of Red Star Belgrade as the Serbian club need the money and is refusing to allow the transfer to go through. Red Star have accepted Liverpool's offer, which included loaning the player back until the end of the season for a return fee of £730,000. The 19-year-old, who was part of Serbia Under 20's World Cup winning side, was due on Merseyside on Wednesday to undergo medicals ahead of signing off his contract, however, Goran said: 'I won't allow them to destroy my boy! 'I'm speaking about people who are in charge of the club (Red Star Belgrade). Everyone turned their back on them, as they've spent all the money the club has had, and they see a solution in Marko's transfer. That's why there's so much pressure on him. Ten times per day they are calling him by phone, urging him to sign a contract. 'And there's also pressure in (the) Red Star dressing room, as it seems that (people from the management) convinced players, who are waiting for their salaries, that their payments depend on Marko's transfer.' Talking to Serbian paper Blic, Goran was asked if he understood the terms of the transfer proposal. 'I mean, which club is willing to pay six million Euros, and then to say ''Look, kid, come when you want''? Nope, if Liverpool FC is seriously counting on him, they'll tell him ''Start of training camp in January on this day, at that hour, we're expecting you''. And, what kind of combination is that? 'The club is paying for him seven million Euros, but then leave him on loan and that loan costs one million!? Really, I'm starting to think I should call the police to tell them everything about this pressure.' Stories in the Serbian media have claimed that Grujic could take the No 8 shirt, last worn by Steven Gerrard 'Then, suddenly came that story about Liverpool... All I can say is that the passports are with me, and I can guarantee that Marko is not leaving, he's not going anywhere. 'He became world champion, he's on his way to win a title with Red Star, it's logical that his price will be bigger in summer 2016. But, there are so many people that want this transfer to go earlier, to get money. All of this is packaged as a beautiful strawberries and cream for Marko because she was still a child. But the reality is different. 'I know that coach Miodrag Bozovic has respect for my son, but I told director Zvezdan Terzic openly - leave my kid alone. And, as of Liverpool's offer, I'm sure there will be bigger than this one. Let him win the title with Red Star first.' http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3371751/Liverpool-s-Marko-Grujic-plunged-doubt-father-says-passports-going-nowhere.html#ixzz3v8sEHdRA The f***?
