Agree with this, if we can sell him for more than he's worth and if we can get a replacement in for less than the replacement is worth and if the replacement is as good or will be as good within 6 months the deal makes sense. But that is a lot of ifs. Kelly is a good player, but we need squad depth. Right full back is one of the rare positions which we have a decent and sensible level of cover, i.e. an obvious first teamer and a young, talented backup.

Well assuming we get those two for £12 million plus Keita / Mulumbu / Diame for free, that would leave approx £18 million plus sales for a striker, which isn't too far off what we paid for Suarez. So we should aim for someone of the value of Suarez, rather than the value of big andy (godluvhim).

We have a limited pool of money. We need some players in certain positions. If we can get some of those positions filled cheaply for the short term, it means we can spend more money on other areas. Plus Gylfi could become a top dog.
