Up top we need a riedle type signing - experienced, comes in to do a job, and a younger potential striker. In the middle we need a wide experienced lad. We have eBay and sterling, but need some experience. We have hendo, Allen Lucas and Gerrard - with some potential coming through we don't need a young lad. We need a ready to go lad to add competition and depth. At the back, depending of McLaughlin, Robinson and Kelly to be honest. They'll either step up now, or leave or be happy to be 3rd choice. Based on that we decide where we go. Enrique and Johnson can still do a job and of course flanno has been a revelation. Centre back, I reckon agger skrtel illori and sakho should be enough unless one leaves. We also have wisdom and kolo as extras. Need a backup keeper, depends on reina I guess! Got to be better than jones though.

We need to beat city, city to beat arsenal and arsenal to beat Chelsea and of course we need to beat Chelsea. With Chelsea going through hopefully that will add some pressure. Would like Mancs to finish 5 or 6. Would mean moyes has had a revival and will likely be around next season and they have Europa league. A Manc team with a new manager, 200mil to spend and no Europe will be a different proposition to moyes with Europa league.

Why we loved houllier, rafa and now Brendan is because they have a plan, continue to learn and get the best out of players. They also got Liverpool. If Roy had 'got it' he may still be here. He just wasn't humble enough to think there are things still to learn. Brendan knows he's on a good thing too. A good crop of lads, coaching setup and the rest. Why would he go elsewhere? Winning the title at city or barca is the expectation. Winning it would be a 'so what?' Winning it here will make him a legend. Win it this season he'll go down in folklore - an achievement like rafa's no5, possibly better.

Still in their hands too. Closest title race for years, we are in it. Chelsea have Europe, arsenal have fa cup city have games in hand, we have smallest squad. What's great is that 09 felt like a culmination of all the work. This feels like we are just getting started.
