Typical tinterweb argument going on in this thread re Torres. It's all brilliant or f***ing sell, no in between, with each camp accusing the other of getting what they wish blah blah. It's no all black and White. For what it's worth, nobody can surely advocate selling Torres (at the moment). HOWEVER, nobody can also argue that he's not a complete bag o s*** at the minute too. I'm not having this lack of service bulls***. He's having trouble controlling the f***ing ball, and his passing is generally woeful. His attitude is apallling and hence many attacks break down when they get to him. I couldn't believe my eyes but I found it quite refreshing to have two willing runners in babel and ngog v villa. Gone are the days when you play a winning team, but in hindsight I would have played babel and ngog from the start yesterday. I love FT, but he's got to sort it f***ing out, no man is bigger than Liverpool. Btw, that's not detracting from Roys failings, what a joke he is and has to go. Very very happy with that. Solid performance, tinged with some classy moments. Didn't like the first 20 of 2nd half when we seemed intent on sitting back and gifting them possession and confidence. Despite missing our best players, others stepped up and we put them to bed without being at our best. Pfk gas done 'ok' and roy has done 'ok' in fairness. We ARE playing better and we ARE looking more confident. It's a shame we didn't pick up points last week as we really would have been flying. We now HAVE to take it into our away form. Look, get a grip and put things in perspective. With regards to this match specifically, we have played very well, deserved much more. It was a classic away performance, controlled the first half, had the better chances throughout the game. Poor finishing, poor refereeing and poor defending had tossed 3 points away. Roy dis not really do much wrong and I wax amazed at how much we committed forward even at 1 1 with 5 minutes left. You could even argue we committed too many forward at the death but I don't go with that I'd much rather try and win a 1 1 even away from home against a very good side in very good form - andwe quite clearly did try and win it. Much more positive than previous away games even last season. However, as a whole are away record is appsling and roy has to take the blame as a whole. He also talks b****x, but you can't blame him for today. Oh, and to say he was saying "oh well" at the end and criticizing him for it is f***ing mental. Some people on here have got very short memories. This purslow/rafa debate is lunacy. I'm not a hodgson apologist, far from it, but the fact is most people were calling for rafas head after last season. While performances this season have been disgraceful at times, I vividly remember last season as being turgid, and to fall from 2nd to 7th was unacceptable, especially given the rank football we were playing. He had to go. Now, purslow quite probably should have done his homework better and could have appointed much better managers than woy, but for all those slating purslow ask yourself this. If we finish above 7th this season, which is a possibility, has purslow made such a massive error, and put the club back years, as some are suggesting?

Me too, went mental when we scored. As I say I'm feeling very bitter and frustrated this season but we've battled very very well today and I don't think it would have been pretty regardless of who was in charge. And I have to say, at the risk of sounding like a roy apologist (which believe me I'm not, the man is out of his depth) I thought gerrard was poor and until that great flick that was the worste performance I have ever seen from Torres. Sunday league-esque. If they had performed anywhere near their level we would have won by a few more.

Listen, we've just won a very tough game away from home and a late one at that. It wasn't pretty but a win is a win and we were desperate for it. Some of our play was poor and much of that was down to our two wonder boys stevie and fernando. To listen to some on here sounded half dissapointed that we've won because it won't mean an immediate sacking is disgraceful. Like most fans I want someone else in but my first priority is Liverpool. We need points, we need confidence. And hey, although it's unlikely if by some miracle we keep scraping wins and start to play ourself into a bit of form and right back up the table then fine. You also feel if we went on a great run and got back into the top 4 certain fans would still be gutted we are winning........

Looking at the bigger picture rather than one game, it also dropped numerous points in very winnable matches, and contributed to a horrible style of football in many many matches. Rubbish.

Either way, thats a bettter midfield than Maxi, Lucas, Poulsen and Jova, which I was dreading. I never, ever want to see a centrral mid of those two again. Worse than Lucas and Masch, which was horrific at best.

Absolutely, utterly, grim. Watching Liverpool for the past 12 months is monotinous, repetitive and dull. We debate, the manager till we are blue in the face, he gets replaced, and the guy coming in is exactly the f***ing same. Is it really that f***ing difficult? Two slow and technically poor defensive centre mids, zero pace out wide. No pressing the other team and then wondering why we are under constant pressure and making any team look good. I'm not having any of this brum are good b****x, it happens to nearly every team we play. I've said time after time after f***ing time. We make teams, from reading to wolves to brum to west brom look like brazil. We are Liverpool. I'm sick and tired of playing this same way week after week and not even trying to take the initiative. I'm now sick to the stomach because after putting up with it for so long under the last manager we are now realising that he new one looks like he's in the same mould. Gutted
