  1. Nothing doing there really. News broke on French side, plus the player has limited time out of WC camp, so no issue getting press release stuff done in an advanced deal
  2. This is all v unhappy, nobody is in a great position after this, but Liverpool have any advantage. If as likely there’s an injury issue, and with the player wanting only Liverpool as it stands, there’s little sign of any bidding war as we seem to seek to lower the risk. If there’s anything in Dechamps banning all negotiation during camp, then can’t see a serious rival coming in, with or without the supposed medical issues.
  3. My guess is he might need further surgery, so it’s a question of whether that can be managed for a season until next summer with risk of breakdown, or should be done soon and then on who’s dollar that should be.
  4. Medical clearly was an issue, but other reposts stating 2nd opinion cleared it up Lyon needing to play it straight regards stock market clearly an issue Now speculation is there's some issue with player side entourage, might be an agents fee or similar Also the chat about delaying for accounting reasons All in all, lots of unusual variables that need to be lined up, would be mad if it all broke down so late
  5. ***Complete Speculation*** So speculation is that his knee is at issue, the one he didn’t take an operation on. Might be a belief he’ll need one st some point and that will be 3 months out or something like. Suppose that’s true, then either he stays at Lyon, has the opp and looks to move in Jan, or moves for vastly reduced up front fee or on some kind of loan arrangement? *** Of course could be all b******s
  6. 230m in wages This isn’t all freely available money. Not that you were saying it was as such, but a lot of this is like house prices going up, great to sell until you’ve got to find somewhere to live Anyway, I’m actually v happy
  7. Experienced and able, but not particularly industrious, hence why he’s not the £50m calibre player he was slated to be four plus years ago
  8. Quack doc v one of the leading sports brain injury specialists
  9. He sacked off the break the other Liverpool players were given because he wants to keep working now and through summer to get his fitness back
  10. I think ideally we’d have that, just think we’ll make use of players who can play at least two positions like Henderson & Fabino being 6 & 8, then Naby who might be able to play 8 & 10, and Ox who can play 8, 10 & front 3, with Fekir being used like we did with Coutinho between midfield and up front. Add one more top attacker to that and it looks like we can take a couple of injures at a time to both front three & midfield and still be v effective. Another CF in addition would be a great luxury
  11. I think we might leave that out & out position to Solanke and other youngsters, and instead find another option for Mo & Mane so they can play up front as required. Guessing including Fekir having five top players for three positions, plus a couple of younger lads.
  12. That was it really, they thought we couldn’t hurt them after that. Was still a limit to how dangerous they were in general play, but they were comfortable when they had been discomforted, and waiting it out is how they often roll.
  13. Couple of others have piled on too, such as Mail pinging him for having breakfast
  14. We needed both, Ox was our only real ball carrier from midfield after Jan, now he’s out. Need at least two more lads who can carry it, hopefully Naby is one, Fekir could be another. It’s vital. To borrow Klopp talk, we also had only one player who can play 6 regularly and have been suffering from and limited by essentially having a midfield 3 of natural 8s too often. Don’t see any reason to think the front three is going to be neglected, Fekir would be an option for those positions and I’d put money on another coming in as well as having youngsters coming into play
  15. True, but he’s one of those players who just strikes it really cleanly so often.
  16. Dunno, think Bale has that kind of thing in his locker, he’s got brilliant technique
  17. Letting the lads get on with their jobs seems to work
  18. He did same thing v Roma for 2nd error
  19. Two days on and I’m more annoyed than sympathetic now. Two huge lapses of concentration, two issues of not doing the basics well. I’m not sure it’s the occasion, more something that’s been bugging me since he got the nod. He seems to have adopted this bravado thing or taking every risk, going for everything to project super confidence. We’ve seen him come out and rashly clatter Kane & Dzeko and get away with it, or fumble from Kolorov and get away with it. It’s like he’s been playing on the edge of his ability and temperament and has been an accident waiting to happen. I think he can come back from this and be a decent keeper, but this is potentially a once in a career chance he’s cost the other players and himself, not ‘just’ a league game, so hard to see how he can be trusted as anymore than a backup for us from now on. Could and should change any summer plans that revolved around Karius being in contention to start next season
  20. One game and all that, but if there was a debate about whether to go big on GK or centre half, should be settled. Still think better backup is needed tho
  21. Why would anyone want to play with Ramos after that?
  22. That’s it really. We need better, it wasn’t deliberate or avoidable
