    Babel

Kenny on Babel Kenny Dalglish believes new boy Ryan Babel has the potential to terrify defenders up and down the country. The club's greatest ever player has liked what he's seen from the Dutchman since his arrival from Ajax in July – especially his corker against Derby last Saturday. "Babel's goal was a cracker and I think we will really see him push on now," Dalglish told LFC Magazine. "He'd made a decent start to life in this country but he took his goal superbly and then looked like he really, really wanted the ball. "He will terrify players in the Premier League now, I hope. He's quick, strong and you can't guess what he's going to do next because he's a bag of tricks." Babel is currently with the Dutch squad preparing for Euro qualifiers against Bulgaria and Albania.

    Torres injured

Torres Fit After Knock Fernando Torres insists he will be fit for international duty this weekend despite a knock sustained in training. The 23-year-old pulled out of Spain's afternoon session yesterday after a brush with David Albelda but doctors have confirmed it was nothing serious. Torres says he will be fit for the Euro qualifiers against Iceland and Latvia: "I received a knock [to the knee] from Albelda and at first I did not really give it a second thought. "I began to notice it more in the afternoon. The doctor told me that it might feel a bit painful but it was nothing serious." Liverpool's record signing has 41 caps and 14 goals to his name.
  4. Question is will we be game of the day on Sky Sports?
  5. I think Yossi will get the nod cos of his performance against Toulouse and the fact that we may need his creativity to unlock their 10 men behind the ball defence. He'll also be easier to swtich flanks with Babel as Pennant is more comfortable just on the right.
  6. Yes given he didn't play any part of Tuesday with Kuyt and Crouch playing the full 90.
  7. With this brewing for several month's hopefully Rafa will have an idea of who he wants to bring in to replace him. As to who I've got no ideas, but it's gonna have to be someone who he trusts implicitly and can make the transition as seamless as possible.
  8. They've had a fee agreed for Kenny Miller of Celtic who is apparently considering the offer. FWIW I'm going 5-0 Torres (2), Voronin, Babel and Agger.
  9. Reina Finnan Hyypia Agger Arbeloa Benayoun Alonso Mascherano Babel Torres Voronin
  10. I'll go: Reina Finnan Carragher Agger Arbeloa Pennant Alonso Mascherano Babel Kuyt Torres 2-0 Torres Babel
  11. A long shot but anyone know of a dcent place to watch the Sunderland game in Ilfracombe, Devon?
  12. Yep only 15 goals between them (Dickov, Samaras, Vassell & Corradi) all of last season!!
  13. From this quote by Bascombe it looks as if we're gonna look at alternatives: The difficulty for Liverpool boss Benitez is he’s keen for a defensive reinforcement before the end of this month, and now knows he can’t rely on the Heinze verdict going the player’s way. Wonder if the Kompany/Chiellini links will resurface or if a new name will eneter the frame?
  14. I don't think I've ever seen him this determined, he really wants the title this season and looks as if he's gonna fight tooth and nail for it. A great start to the season from him.
  15. Haven't seen that. Until Heinze I can't remeber us being linked to one. Right backs yes, Josemi, Kromkamp, Arbeloa and linked to Alves.
  16. Chelsea's team is what I think they'd play, ours is more what I hope we play.
  17. Not only that wasn't Bale £10m?
  18. Brilliant. Remind me how much did they pay for Kaboul or even Dawson!?
  19. Looks like Everton are getting Fernandes BBC

    Adam Hamill

Post from page 2 of the thread above: George Burley has a £1000/week coke habit and has sactioned the sales of Baird, Bale, Pele, Jones and Viafara so he can take massive kick backs to fund his habit. I know this because my grandad is his dealer and bought a new yacht with the money he's made from Burley and his mates over the last year or so.
  21. Or his inconsitency, something we're trying to improve on to make us genuine contenders for the whole season. Incedently Mascherano's display against Kaka in the biggest club game in football overshaddows anything Sissoko has done, including Sissoko's dominant display in the Community Shield against Chelsea which was arguably his best.
  22. Gonna be interesting to see the optimism (or lack of it) from the pundits if he doesn't play!! If Gerrard doesn't play there's no way we can win. Losing Gerrard is like losing our entire team, I mean who's gonna be there to be our saviour this week? IMO I'd go with Xabi and Mascherano holding and then give Pennant and Babel licence to get forward knowing they've got cover behind them.
  23. 1. Hyypia 2. Mascherano 3. Arbeloa
  24. Not denying it was a professional performance in difficult conditions but the fact that the only effort we had from inside the box was Crouch's looping header is a big worry. I honestly can't remeber their keeper having to make a save or us creating anything thinking he should have scored there. We played with our 2 new creative players yet they created next to nothing, certainly in Yossi's case. Maybe it was the heat, maybe we played in 2nd gear, maybe we had one eye on Chelsea but that was a poor display and there's no getting away from it. Having said that, it's 2 wins from 2 not playing anwywhere near our potential and should be in control of the tie at Anfield.
