  1. "break the bank"....no club will give saints 12/15m figures upfront.... deal will be structured in various sorts of ways, e.g. england apperances, apperances for club, winner medals of PS or CL., and only if walcott succeed in everything will saints recieve the full million figure. I ve seen little of walcott but from what i ve seen he seens a huge prospect, so yes i think we should craft out an ingenious structured deal, which can match that of the a***. worst case scenario...another ALT. best case scenario....one of the best players england has ever seen. just beat me to it...took me quite long to write that as had to go to the loo
  2. This content is not viewable to guests.
  3. great idea this aggermania.... best goal surely is cisse vs bitters...if he does that more often, he would be our henry. followed closely by gerrard vs magp.
  4. good old robbie! was half expecting him to stick five fingers up...
  5. cheers, not bothering replying either...
  6. You may have a point, but if we have the cash, i doubt Rafa would have risked to enter the season without settling his priorities straight. he would have paid the extra million or two. He has been very, brave, lucky and made the best use of his resources. Lucky cos if either carra or hyppia got injured we would have been fuc#ed and genius in utilizing SG on the right when needed. Now of course it turned out quite well, we have bought Agger a good Cd from the looks of it for a reasonable price, but there were many risks involved, risks i dont think rafa would not have taken, had he the spare cash to rest upon. Risks which Juve, and other big financial sound clubs never take. I still think we would have bought Agger in the Summer if we were prepared a couple of mill more, which proves my point, that we just barely have the cash to secure our priorities. fair answer that. agree what are you on? So you'd rather spend more money on players which Rafa might not even want to sign?...never said that. You seem to be well aware of our financial situation so could tell how much we have to spend on transfers?-NO i am just trying to logically speculate like the rest of you.
  7. if we have the cash, why the hell didnt we manage to secure a CD AND RW last summer, after Rafa had been harping all summer long that he wants a CD and a RW?? If we have the cash, why did Agger s transfer saga take so long, with the risk of being hijacked by another club? it is obvious we dont have extra cash to throw around in deals. we have just barely enough to secure those targets rafa has in mind. And 12mill euros amount to 8mill the same amount we offered for simao, and was rejected.
  8. great vid crouchinho...keep em coming.

  10. He said: "Have I been offered the chance to take money? Yes, of course I have. "I wouldn't say it is a rarity either. "If I was open to it or interested in it then it would be a regular occurrence, because all I would have to do is say 'what's in it for me?' "Would I know which agents to ring? Well, they ring you.".....My Webpage you can just tell where he s coming from, cant you?

    Explains a lot!

Yes, i agree, imo we do not have loads of dosh but sufficient to sign the players rafa wants to sign.. i think the 20mill rumour is about right considering we just won the CL. still think he has about 12mill to spend this January but dunno if he wants to add that to the summer s kitty....I think he wants to buy a RW and a striker, he may want to buy one of these this Jan. but only if we find the right player and right price for either. he is not prepared to spend much more than 8mill. all speculation, but dont think it s wide off the mark.
  13. Benitez has declared himself well satisfied with his transfer business so far, but admits he doesn't have a huge kitty to work with. "The most important thing is always to sign the right player, not how long it takes to get him. One or two good players can take you two step forwards. Mistakes in the transfer market can mean you stand still or go backwards. "In England it's very difficult to complete deals quickly. You can't sign a player on January 1 if it's not possible to talk to the player or his agent. "Everyone knows we want to sign player and they think we have a lot of money. Agents call us and say they can do a deal, and then quote 20 million euros. It's unbelievable. People think we have a lot of money and we can pay over the value. We will only pay the true value of a player." echo
  14. davis and mendes are better than diao and hughes or that french guy they play in the middle...davis at one point before his injury was wanted by many clubs, mendes is a great player for pompey and paramot will improve their back-line as well...for 2.5mill each, i think they are steals. Today with 2.5mill you buy nothing.
  15. He already signed Benjani for 4.1mill and now he managed to coup spurs Sean Davis, Pedro Mendes, and Noe Pamarot for a combined deal of 7.5mill....around 2.5mill each. Some shrewd business by Harry and all his new players will improve his first 11 a lot.
  16. he will be a good stop-gap for them...certainly better than the likes of smith or o shea in the middle of the pitch. hopefully vidic and evra "will not come to terms with the pace of the PL"

    Rafa speaks

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has bemoaned the problems with trying to conduct transfer business in January's transfer window. link The Spanish coach has been speaking to the press in his homeland as he looks to introduce a centre back and wide midfielder to his squad. The UEFA Champions League holders are finding it difficult to sign the right players despite earmarking a host of targets from across the globe. Only full back Jan Kromkamp and reserve team winger Paul Anderson have arrived this month but Benitez is still scouring the market for reinforcements. "It is always difficult and more so in January," he protested to La Voz de la Galicia. "The good players are at the great clubs and the contracts are very complicated. "Sincerely, it is only possible to search for players of smaller clubs." Benitez is always likely to fall back to the league he knows best for new talent, which is probably why so many players from La Liga are continually linked with moves to Anfield. However, the list of potential targets seems to grow almost daily as the manager ponders his options. perhaps referring at the difficulties of signing simao?
  19. IMHO, we are fans/supporters of LFC. Our main obligation is to support the team, on and off the pitch. We must remmember that players come and go, managers come and go, but fans or real fans are always behind the club and this passion for our club is passed from us to generations and generations. As fans i percieve us as being the voice of LFC and as such i harshly condemn fickle critiscm, but likewise i condemn those sets of fans who refuse to stick their heads out of the sand, in the sense that i hate fickle fans, but i also hate dumb blinded fans. To give some concrete examples, we are still in the first days of January so any critiscm at this point is uncalled for and fickle. Like most of you i too am impatient, but as far still not concerned, but i will not find any difficulty whatsoever, with those fans who criticise Parry and co. if we do not manage to land a central defender, by the end of january as i have no problem with those fans who criticised Gh in his last year of his reign. Fickle fans are stupid, extreme die-hard red fans are likewise stupid, realistic fans who opine to constructively criticise and appluad when due, in the best intersets of LFC are those sets of fans which i strive to part of.

    Another striker?

have heard a few good things abt him, esp. in the italian media
  21. If he wants to complain, he should have an argument. He shouldn't just throw out the word "spinulosodenticulate", for example, and expect us to be scared. So you see, Mr. Rick Parry's trained seals coerce children into becoming activists willing to serve, promote, spy, and fight for his imprecations. ironical perhaps?
  22. seriously is everyone banned??

    Mediocre Crouch..

although giving alonso a 6 is way too harsh.see this
  24. feckin chelski cant seem to lose a point...vs fulham they were again very lucky to take all 3 points. fulham missed a couple of sitters and should have been awarded another pen. one thing that really makes me fear them, is not their big name players but that they possess the same hunger to win as our lads.
  25. Alonso and Gerrard partnership is world class. Compare them with any midfield partnership in Europe and you ll find they are second to none, not even to Emerson/Viera combination. Our Central mid is one department i am very chuffed with. Sissoko and Hamann provide very good cover too. We only need to add last bits to the jigsaw i.e. good cover for the CD position, and i wish for a right footed Robben to arrive from somewhere. Thats all i want from the January transfer window so i wish rafa luck and financial backing in next month s transfer window. Other additions like proper cover for LB, RB and striker and perhaps another LW can calmly be made next summer.
