I'd go the other way and say it will be Hicks in the for the long term to be honest ,Hicks is passionate about sport in general maybe not 'soccer' well not yet anyway but give him half a chance and some success at Liverpool and he might just get bitten by the bug .
-
oh houllier why did you buy diouf ? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/africa/3022122.stm But now Eto'o has set his sights on joining Gerard Houllier's side and teaming up with England hitman Michael Owen. "I'm convinced Michael Owen and I would form a partnership which would leave defenders with their tongues hanging out," Eto'o told the Daily Mirror newspaper. "I would drive the fans crazy with my goals and passes. I'm capable of playing in any team in the world and I've showed that at Mallorca and for Cameroon," he added

How come this could be agreed too when the top brass knew new people were going to come in ? just doesn't make sense.

LIVERPOOL are on the verge of sealing their first multi-million pound sponsorship deal of the new American era with a £21.6m agreement with Carlsberg. The Reds had already decided to renew their arrangement with the brewing giants prior to the takeover of George Gillett and Tom Hicks. However, the terms are a massive improvement on the disappointing £5m over two years which was agreed in 2004, just before Liverpool won the Champions League final. The new deal represents £7.2m a year for the next three seasons - virtually trebling Liverpool?s income from this source per annum. Carlsberg have been Liverpool?s sponsors since 1992, but although the latest deal is the most lucrative between the pair yet, it still doesn?t compare favourably with those of Manchester United and Chelsea. United are currently in a £56.5m deal with AIG over four years, while Chelsea struck a deal with Samsung worth £50m a year over five years. Spurs? shirt deal with Mansion House is worth £34m over four years. http://icliverpool.icnetwork.co.uk/0500liv...-name_page.html This seems to be a bit of a habit ,Liverool agree things and then everything changes ,we agreed to sign djibril cisse and then sacked houllier ,it looks like we've agreed a deal with carlsberg but now we have new owners ,whats to say they couldn't have found us a more lucrative sponser?

the daily gate mail claims Liverpool are/were in talks with 'Gibraltar-based PartyGaming, the biggest online poker and casino operation in the world, have been in negotiations with Liverpool over a shirt deal in strong competition with Carlsberg, who are keen to continue their 16-year association which is up for renewal' but with the americans coming in now things could change as I'm not sure if you can advertise gambling internet companies over there ? sorry this is sponsership not about the new stadium...wrong thread
-
Anfield ,even if it means the sponsers name having to go next to it .Can't believe people would seriously want to get rid of it altogether.
-
Ideal scenerio for me is that the stadium gets built ,Liverpool bring in more money off the pitch and then in a few years time the americans sell it back to a rich Liverpool supporter ,Miskelly and others take note get making more money.
-
They have plenty of money making ideas thats for sure 'A mainstay of Hicks' sports enterprises has been the ability to go into new or recently constructed facilities. The planned stadium in Liverpool would boost capacity by almost 15,000 over the current facility. Additions of American-style suites, video advertising on high definition video boards and perhaps selling naming rights to the stadium could all significantly increase revenue' *Add to that a different pricing policy on tickets *the tweaking to the stadium ,reading about 'bunker style' seats whatever the hell they are *and the fact that Hicks wants to get more exposure for Liverpool through his latin american cable channel The fact is Liverpool to these 2 men are no more special to them maybe less so than the other teams that thay own in their portfolio texas rangers ,dallas stars ,the montreal canadiens etc, people seem impressed just becos they have given a decent interview but they probably gave the same soundbites when they bought their own franchises as well. Maybe its just me but it just feels weird that Liverpool are owned By people who essentially just don't care about them no matter what what way you look at it ,we are a great business opportunity to them thats all and it makes me feel a tad uncomfortable .
-
They wrote far worse articles about the chelsea takeover ,think we have come off lightly .
-
Just what Gillett said himself that although they have deep pockets he acknowledged DIC had even deeper pockets ,just thinking what could have been really or more precisely the added security it might have provided..doesn't matter now.
-
Might just be the outside of the stadium they want tweaking then? becos theres no way they will get a bigger capacity ,just won't be allowed or it'll throw back the plans. this is the texas rangers ground I think , http://texas.rangers.mlb.com/tex/ballpark/...ark_history.jsp
-
Its taken two americans to reach a billion in combined wealth in english pounds ,the russian is still considerably richer than our two together . Not that it matters ,Liverpool just need the new stadium to secure its future .
-
'As the Gillett-Hicks buddy movie played to full houses, it was tempting to wonder whether the bereaved took any comfort from knowing that English football is now a much safer world, in which 60,000 Liverpudlians will flock to a new dream home. More likely, they just wanted their loved ones back.' ya what?
-
Rick Parry said life under Gillett would be 'fun' whatever that is supposed to mean .Hopefully its not hearing from him every 5 minutes in the press .
-
I think its xenophobia and becos they can't get away with calling him a spanish whatever they dress it up in something else that is unless you are mike parry for talksport and then you can call rafa a spanish peasant or whatever he was supposed to have called him. 'Thankfully, they possess a manager who has a commendable streak of diplomacy' yes he is talking about david Moyes there
-
thats another exclusive by Paul McCarthy
-
Apparently DIC want to buy into arsenal becos they prefer their football....
-
Just read the the people online (no point buying it) and that paul McCarthy is it? is one bitter horrible prick ,his whole match report is about slagging our manager off ,he really does hate rafa, its just bile. Moyes really is the darling of the press it seems.

http://sport.independent.co.uk/football/pr...icle2204032.ece makes painful reading 'The DIC deal was all but signed. DIC and Liverpool had already agreed the wording of a joint statement to announce the takeover next Monday. DIC was not informed that Tuesday's meeting would discuss Gillett Jnr. This infuriated DIC executives, who tried but failed to find out what was happening, and they made a unilateral decision to pull the plug on Liverpool yesterday.' does seem like a massive misunderstanding

``I understand he offered 5,000 pounds a share while we offered 4,500 pounds a share,'' Dubai International's executive chairman Sameer al-Ansari said in an interview late yesterday at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. ``We are very confident the club will not consider the other offer.'' It implies some kind of promise by liverpool that they wouldn't consider another bid ,as soon as Liverpool have put DIC on hold they have stormed out.
