The thing is, the truth's the main casualty here. It doesn't really matter anymore who sang what when. The truth behind the Smith ambulance situation, Man Utd fans kicking off on the stewards at Anfield, s*** being thrown, apologies being made...it's all meaningless compared to what people WANT to think. We have fans who will read any old crap about your lot and vice versa in order to justify futher hatred which will intensify rumours and counter-rumours which will further inflame matters. We are all the losers in this one unless the proper, decent fans stand up and show they are more numerous. We are more numerous, aren't we? And btw, I was jesting in my last post on this subject. I know some really great Man Utd fans who I would much rather associate with than some of the scummier Liverpool fans I know (know of). Equally, I know some real prince ASBOs amongst the Man Utd lot while some of the best people I've ever met in any walk of life have been amongst our support. There's good and bad everywhere. As long as we realise the good overwhelms the bad, we might just salvage this situation that looks to me like it's going to escalate and get much worse before it takes a tragedy to join us (well I'm not going to write unites, am I?) together again.
