  1. Just make them play at gunpoint.Problem solved.
  2. I was strangely complacent, confident that we were always going to win all the way through.Even in the last minutes when nothing was happening. The last time I felt like that was against Bayer Leverkusen in the Champs league quarter final, thought it was amusing all the missed chances in that one and ultimately lost in the last minute or so. It's only now with some perspective I can see how poor the play was in the first half.
  3. ah it was alright I suppose
  4. We'll win the league and european cup next season.
  5. no chance of that now... sigh
  6. I'll be putting a bit on them to win the cup. They have some really outstanding players.

    Closing in

Agree and I'd add a right midfielder to carry the ball and balance things out in midfield. I believe we will do the Premiership / Champions League double next season.
  11. They clearly are.I don't see a nation of people lying ruined in the wake of Man Utds chairman.
  12. gets funnier every time
  13. I don't think that was the case at all.We certainly dictated and controlled the majority of the game effortlessly.Unfortunately the error leading to the goal coupled with Kewell and Crouch then unavailable for the outlet ball left us flailing a bit.
  14. just annoying
  15. ye know I'm happy you can have your opinion, I don't feel the need to resort to childish name calling to validate my own.I could easily trump your clown with c*** and that's the arguement won. Yeah I've only been a Liverpool fan for some fifteen or so years so maybe I'm too idealistic that the football doesn't have to be a dull grind to be winning. As for the go and support someone else... how boring can you get?
  16. like everything there's a right way and wrong way to do something. Anny do I have really have to quote myself or can you re-read the post?
  17. The problem is not with the tactic or whatever. It's the departure from the style of play that has seen the team return to form of sorts like pulling out that win against everton with ten men. That was done by destroying them with a passing game. I mean how many times did johnny riise mill the ball a mile into the air , a mile upfield to nobody. The fact is it's completely f***ing un-neccessary when you have Xabi Alonso in the midfield. I don't see what the difference in pointing that out whether we have won or lost.. it's the wrong way to play.
  18. I don't buy it.That game was tougher than it had to be because we kept giving the ball to Blackburn everytime we won it back. Then we proceed to chase them around to park ... and so the vicious cycle continues.Bulls*** is what I say to anyone who believes you have to play like that to conserve.Sure there will be plenty of times where the players are out of sync or are just lacking that bit of adrenaline to play at their best.At least try and go out and play the right way, not hoofball thanks.
  19. wait ...what?
  20. Yes but what has to be considered is where the football is heading. It was described as a throwback to a period where we won semi regularly playing that type of wasteful football and despite the success it left the team lacking considerably when it came to winning the top prizes. I hope its the last I see of it.
  21. The tactic today was undoubtedly the correct one, with a comfortable win.Like YKI said, it was a given how the game was going to play out with the personnel employed. It's just a shame to have to endure ugly football when we have been playing decently in recent times, I was looking forward to an entertaining game and it did disappoint.
  22. It's the value of a familiar face/name over quality of analysis.I consider us lucky here in Ireland where we have the likes of John Giles and co. on Irish t.v. Their analysis is really miles ahead of anything I have seen on offer from English pundits.
  23. If he could head it decently he would be dangerous, still quite lightweight.Hopefully we will see a big improvement in that area soon.
  24. In rugby union they would be a force no doubt.
