Gerrard should have stayed and retired as a professional as a Red, that debacle in LA was a waste. Aldridge definitely, and the obvious recent ones people have mentioned. This will sound kinda weird, but Friedel. How much did we spend on keepers much worse than him since he left and during the rest of his career. He went on to be quite successful, consistent in the Premiership. Sander wasn't any better or worse than him (as proven by their respective track records after departing LFC), and then came Pegguy, Kirkland, Dudek, Carson, et al....finally stabilised a little with Reina.

Couple weeks after the match, I took my son to his "UK Soccer Camp" and one of the coaches as a ManU youth team member, who to be fair called him Little-Scouse, and took the 11 year old boy Manc jokes in good fun. We had cracking good little atmosphere generated in our little pseudo-Kop didn't we. Lasted right down to walking out of the ground too, flags waving, songs blasting from our lungs. Well, without further signings, we need him. He's a critical part of the squad until replaced or push to the bench buy someone better. Happy for him career-wise, but selfishly, like all the others....want their teams knocked out before injury and so they can rest!
