Ahh but have you been to see the Ar$e & Manc reserves and academy? We don't only need to improve. We need to improve faster than Mancs and possibly Ar$e if they finish higher than us this season. Not to mention the considerable threat of Chelski's mullah. It is interesting to see sentiment showing the stronger arm on this forum. Possibly the Liverpool way. In any case I believe the pressure for Liverpool to succeed will eventually do Rafa in. We laugh at the press et al but they have unbelievable influence even amongst us fans and they have their "best batsmen" on the crease these days.

Exactly. With a first touch like his I don't undersatand how anyone can believe he'll cut it in this league. He's a bit part player who makes up for his shortcomings with endless 'tracking back' energy. In fact you could say Rafa has realized this shortcoming and has asked him to do what he does best. I moved from the States to UK early this year and initially listened to him on talksport (yes, yes I was still ignorant..). having heard him in other media I have realized the only reason he appears somewhat reasonable on talksport is its all in comparison to Durham.

Add to that the headlining of anything that can be twisted into controversy and there you have it. ESPN in the US is very similar. Can be hard filling 24 hours of sports news without some 'creativity'.
