Absolutely agree. The idea also assumes the player is in form during then. In my opinion if the player is in form and its this early in the season.. play him, particularly for league games. Its hard not to get the notion that Rafa is out to prove people wrong regarding his rotation policy. Media focus doen't make it any easier.

Sadly we seem to say that regularly now. Somewhat agree but maybe a change of approach will help.

IMO strikers should score goals. This business of running around and harrying defenders should be secondary in all respects. TBH the likes of Kuyt need to score more. Other than that he's a midfielder playing in an advanced role. Had he supplied many assists and clear potential assists then.....
