Yeah I know. I am not saying he is campaigning for us to sign him, but after the Porto game in Portugal, he was very impressed with Quaresma.

I have no idea mate, got no new stuff recently, England etc.... I know the skipper likes Quaresma too though.

That came from me, and is one of my best memories of the night. He was laughing about it with Xabi Alonso and Baros in the party afterwards. I didn't notice until he said it, but Dida went the same way for every penalty, inlcuding Alonso's in normal time. Riise was the only one who he outwitted (surprise surprise)

To Brazilians Garrincha is held in as high esteem as anyone with regards pure talent. He was mental though. I agreehe didnt do as much as Maradona though.

The Argentinians adore Maradona. He is the greatest player ever as far as they are concerned, the only one I have heard mentioning Di Stefano above Maradona is Maradona himself. If you go to Brazil and ask who is their best, it would be spilt between Pele and Garrincha.

Pele never dominated a World Cup like either Maradona or Garrincha, and obviously one player cant win a match or a tournament on his own. But, its fair to say that Maradona in '86 made the most difference to a team of any other player in World Cup history.

Garrincha was the main man for Brazil in 1962, Pele only played in the first 2 games before he got injured. Garrincha was voted player of the tournament and it was probably the only time other than 1986 that 1 player has dominated the World Cup so much.

I have read that too, although it is interesting, he tells a lot of porkies in it too. I dont doubt the injuries and painkillers, but you cant blame it for his drug abouse. He was on coke whilst at Barcelona and he was only 21 then. If you want a better balanced read on him, read Jimmy Burns 'Hand of God' - although it doesn't actually talk about football much.

I just though I would pass it on, but Capello and the Italians on his backroom staff have been raving about how good Dossena is during the England get together this week. They reckon he will be a superb signing.
