  1. Particularly if nobody challenges him for the ball, from a setpiece, in a Champiosn League game, for example.
  2. We shoudl have signed him then. And we should have signe dhim thsi summer.
  3. I'm 99% certain of it.
  4. Any statistic that's ever quoted on an internet forum gets rubbished as nonsense by someone.
  5. More goals in open play than Chelsea too.
  6. Times Article
  7. I hope you charge West Ham fans twice as much.
  8. HE has a clause. He'll walk away, and do hsi negotiating all over again.
  9. Shame we haven't got the player, but delighted we've stood our ground. Ayala on loan would mean Carragher as cover right back though. Don't really want that, for a numebr of reasons.
  10. Jerzy throwing them in probably skews Sami's numbers a fair old bit.
  11. How many of the Chelsea/Arsneal etc games did each start?
  12. Ta. Makes sense. Is it fair to say that the longer the term of the investment, the less viable this becomes? (More interest paid, etc?) EDIT - don;t worry, answered my own question.
  13. Neill closer to West Ham, say Sky. http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=4...+closes+on+move
  14. I#'m no finance expert, so someone explain to me why DIC would want one of their companies paying interest unnecessarily? They coudl build the stadium out of pocket change. And LFC aren't suddenly going out of business.
  15. Only way is some sort of (maybe interest free) loan. And the board won;t want to take on debt.
  16. Salihamawopbopaloobodawaopbamboomazic is leaving Bayern, he'd be a decent stopgap solution. Can play on the wing too, plenty quality. Linked with Juve yesterday, linked with us a while back.
  17. I think Bellamy can go in there too.
  18. A relegation release clause? Makes him a free agent in six months. Fat signing on fee, fat wages for six months, and do it all again in the summer. It's his agents doing their job, I suppose. When he sees we're not budging, hopefully he'll still sign up.
  19. To be fair to him, there's a little more to it than "money or medals" - Neill may not be an automatic starter here, whereas Newcastle or West Ham could certainly offer him that. He might choose to play more football. I would hop his attitude would be that he'll force his way into the side regardless. I like the fact that he's Blackburn captain too. Always good to be signing captains.
  20. Scary when you think that Diao, Diouf, Cheyrou and the like all got those 50K a week deals, and probably didn't even have to ask.
  21. Not even £6M Leo - Mascherano deal is a loan with a view to permanent deal in the summer. Neill is effectively free, as we just swap him. Is the Cisse deal supposed to become permanent in this window, or am I ahead of myself?
  22. There was no balls up - it was a deliberate decision. The rules were changed because had we qualified automatically as holders (as per the published rules), the League Winners (Chelsea) and us would have qualified for the groups automatically, while the second placed team would have lost their automatic qualification, and had to play a qualifying round. The second placed team was Arsenal. David Dein made the decision. Turkey's don't vote for Xmas.
  23. From the BBC Gossip Column: "Mourinho may pick Shevchenko against Liverpool just to keep the peace at "crisis club" Chelsea. (Various)" Given the resentment that's bubbling over Shevchenko, the fact that it costs Robben hi splace, and a whole bunch of other factors, this could be a good thing.
  24. First time in ages we were able to lord it over the Mancs.
  25. Be nice to see Xabi break Fat Lumplard's ankle too.
