I came out of the game yesterday thinking, OK we didn't score but apart from that we absolutely chinned them and I was feeling quite upbeat about Wednesday. Got home, logged on here and 10 minutes later I was in a state of depression....A computer genius somewhere needs to invent virtual Prozac so I can get through the day's posts without the need of a straight jacket and some rubber wallpaper....

Or maybe we're all a bunch of whiney f*cking bitches who don't realise how lucky we are that we support the best club on the planet...

Offal Liverpool will have a new supporter at Anfield on Wednesday as they look to turn around a one-nil deficit away to Benfica. The Kop will be transformed into a sea of colour as fans launch a giant surfer banner when the Portuguese side roll into town. Funded through donations from hundreds of supporters worldwide, the 'Liverbanner' features the iconic Liverbird and celebrates Liverpool's status as the most successful British club in European football. "The banner stands as a symbol that the supporters recognise the progress made by Liverpool and want to play their part in the rebirth of the club under Rafa Benitez," claims Matthew Owen, one of the supporters behind the project. "We hope this is the first of many such banners. The Liverbanner features a reinterpretation of the iconic Liverbird grasping a Champions League ball detailing our five European titles. The message is clear - Liverpool FC under Rafael Benitez has reclaimed its place at the forefront of European football. "As the Eagles of Benfica stand in the way of Liverpool's European progress, we hope Anfield will be inspired by our own Liverbird to sing the team to victory." The Liverbanner concept was born in Istanbul, following the team's historic Champions League triumph, when a group of supporters decided to mark the historic achievement by commissioning a large format celebratory banner. A design competition was launched on independent Liverpool website Redandwhitekop.net and graphic artist Kit Nelson produced an original design based on the results. "Hundreds of Liverpool supporters from across the world donated over £4,000 to fund production costs and Scanachrome, a large-format printing specialist business in Skelmersdale, produced the giant 22m x 15m banner at a special rate to support the project. "The organisers, artist and production team are all keen supporters of Liverpool and hope that this new banner will be enjoyed for many years to come," continues Owen. "The banner features all five of Liverpool's European Cup titles but there's still room for a sixth date should Liverpool successfully defend their title in Paris. "The banner also features an eternal flame to remember the victims of the Hillsborough tragedy. Rafa has already seen the design but we can't wait for him to see the real thing on the Kop on Wednesday night. Hopefully it can get the whole ground fired up for what could be a very special night."

Are they being played in Cardiff this year?
-
Not bothering with the phone for this one, my lad is going in the queue at the ground....
-
so are 203, 204, 205 & 206. Apart from the Kop there are seats available in almost every block in the ground but I wouldn't underestimate the demand for this one tomorrow.

They received about 17,000 applications for 7,500 tickets, so approximately 2.2 to 1 chance last time...
-
There were only 7,500 tickets available in the ballot last time (11,000 this time), 30% of those went to UK addresses. I can't find any confirmation of the number of applications received but I'm sure it was something like a 2 to 1 chance. It's likely that they will receive a lot more applications this time with the final taking place in Paris.
-
I went for Cat 2, did you tick the box that says you agree to receive tickets from another category if your first choice is over subscribed?
-
I'm applying through UEFA in case we don't get to the final. That way I can go anyway.... wouldn't mind watching Barca v Juve in Paris if we don't make it...... If we do get there then the UEFA tickets can go to another Liverpool fan....
-
They say that if you are successful you will be asked to confirm your credit card details again before they debit the amount owed...
-
Mockers Schmockers... I'd rather be a mocker than end up watching it on telly.....

Applications accepted from today until 24th February uefa.com CL Tickets Page

Seconded.... Will a show hands do, or do we need a secret ballot...
-
Heard a couple attempts at the chelsea/no history song as well but i don't think anybody knew the words so that quickly died a death.... Just makes us look like all the other w*nkers out there.....
-
They were kids, a few years back they would have had a grounding in the Kop and known that we don't sing about other teams unless we're playing them. Old traditional songs like "We hate nottingham Forest" excepted.
-
It wasn't just OOT's there was a gang of locals in front of me who didn't shut up the whole game with this sort of crap...
