  1. I mean in attitude and legs. It's about earning the right to play football. Of course Mane had other attributes, you are right there. AF tried to go more technical in midfield with Veron. In the end we will need a new manager to sort this out and decide how it goes. There will need to be big names leaving though, and maybe the new manager insists on less influence from Hughes and Edwards. There does seem to be some massive disconnect in recruitment and then how the manager wants them to play. It's like everyone at the club has clocked it and gone 'ah s***, this won't work'
  2. I miss players like Mane, Henderson, Milner. Absolute workhorses, talented grafters. That was our way. Why didn't we keep doing that?
  3. Not sure I believe he really thought this or said it, but the arrogance of 'won too many games by a single goal' would be mind blowing. He's disappointing, the Dutch fella.
  4. Can have all the money in the world but if there isn't a clear strategy and an identity then it's pissing in the wind. What are we trying to do with our summer signings?
  5. Just checking the forum to see the score. WTAF. What's been the story of this game ?
  6. Isak getting in form has to happen so he's gonna play if fit. Soz to Ekitike but he will get plenty of games too.
  7. That seems very optimistic that Rio would be suddenly one of the best wingers in the league like Diaz had been. I can understand some of us divs saying that on here in the summer but in the cold light of day what were the club employees thinking ?
  8. Finally deigns to pick Gomez then if that's true. Not before time. With our troubles at fullback and with Konate you'd have expected him to get games before now. Really hope Isak is properly fit and gives everyone around him a lift.
  9. Yes too much. He was good value when spurs got him, and we had been linked, but now he'd cost too much wouldn't he ? I mean too much for his injury record.
  10. They also had Hello.
  11. Is FYDS dead ?
  12. Lampard currently doing well at Coventry. It's quite likely he has a decent career as a manager. Not sure about Gerrard. Not saying get Lampard in as manager BTW! Christ, can you imagine. Conte is still only 56. Lots to admire, despite the Chelsea stint.
  13. What about a diamond defence, a diamond midfield, one in the hole and a big galoot up front ?
  14. Not really. It's not our job to pick a manager.
  15. Only Wolves have fewer points from the last 6 league games.
  16. This could set the tone for the foreseeable future for our individual and collective mental health. People say you have to do the work on the difficult and the dark parts of your life but I don't want to. I want unbridled success and convenience. If we don't do well in this game, then this is how we will all talk... https://www.instagram.com/reel/DPHl5KSEgjB/?igsh=MTJoZHR3OGRvZDVoeA== I always hear his name in my mind like Homer saying Flanders.
  17. 'Hey, you 4 guys! You come from the capital of Spain!' 'bilingual, well travelled b*****ds'
  18. Who's been the best/worst out of Salah, Ekitike and Gakpo ?
  19. I hope the ketamine has been flushed from MacAllister's system and he gets a strong coffee before the match. Please Alexis, for the love of all that is good and holy, play well again.
  20. Can they digest the meat though? I can't see them regurgitating a neat pellet of undigested skeleton, skin teeth, claws and bill, Stonty. If they do, can Slot then cook up a broth with those leavings ?
  21. We are like twins! (except for the many other ways in which we are probably dissimilar)
  22. Needs to get out of there and get his career back on track. Sad how it's going for Harvey after the highs of working for Jürgen and being an important part of the squad.
  23. Some of the decision making around that. Committed to buying Zubimendi, then converting Gravenberch. Almost never trusting Endo to play more than minutes at the end of a game but then keeping him for another season and not investing in a better option. Meanwhile buying Wirtz for a billion pounds. There isn't a clear plan through this
  24. signs of a tactical plan are most important. It must look like the players know how to play as a team, know how to get the best from each other.
  25. Needing 2 strikers and a RB was unavoidable and the right call. Signing Kerkez at the time looked like a great signing. Not replacing Diaz but buying Wirtz is looking like an odd call now. Overall the planning looks a bit disjointed. Either the DOF and Slot didn't work closely, or if they did then it's not looking good for Slot's strategy and tactics. Who decided to go against the grain of big fast physical lads?
