  1. Totally agree btw. It’s clearly setup for him to be a coach and everything else will be handled by everyone else. I’m not against the idea of him becoming a succes. I crave it. I need it. I’ll back it. I just don’t buy those propaganda lines from the marketing department like the small pitch thing. I don’t know the correct word for it, in Danish we call it “selvbedrag.” I think it roughly translates to lying to oneself. Or delusion. Can’t remember.
  2. Can we not just stay realistic at least? I mean I’m gonna back the coach because he deserves it as our coach but let’s not pretend this guy is can avoid injuries because he uses smaller pitches. Like are everyone else in Europe (incl Klopp) idiots then for not using this simple genius trick?
  3. Yeah I read the propaganda too. I just don’t buy the idea that Slot with four years of experience from the Dutch league can fix all the fitness issues and curb the physical demands of the Premier League because he uses smaller pitches in training. We had a dedicated dietitian, sports psychologist, super fancy fitness coaches, those lads with the brain scanners, but all we had to do was to use smaller pitches. Seems to easy to me.
  4. I think all the clubs know how injury prone players are and that it impacts price. Like Konate wouldn’t have been as cheap as he was if he was less injury prone. He would have cost more and thus be out of our range. The big elephant here is that you can’t transfer that philosophy from the weak Dutch league to the demands and intensity of the Prem and Europe and two domestic cups. If you could then surely everyone else would do the same and have the same success.
  5. Larry David can f*** off How can it be when I’m bald myself? I’m actually a dual minority.
  6. He’s not going to play RB again down the wing. He doesn’t want to run up and down. He want to go in the middle so I’m sure he’ll go down the middle. Bradley is the RB now.
  7. I’d be livid. Bald prick who does he think he is?
  8. Or it’s between him and someone else. Edwards loves the smoke screen.
  9. And we are back in the CL so more cash. My point was just that wage bills are dynamic like income and expenses. Nothing is set in stone. We can expand the squad if we want to. I think we need to expand. Past seasons have proved so.
  10. Thiago and Matip leaving frees up at least 300k pr/w. Could easy feed three players for 300k pr/w. Considering those two were not fit to play anyway it would be a massive improvement to have three able bodies instead. Endo signed a long-term contract at 50k pr/w meaning Thiago and Matip's wages can cover six Endo's. I think the decision to have a slim squad full of quality was Jurgen's. The alternative is having a larger squad with less quality in some positions but at least you have some cover to deal with the unavoidable mess that is injuries. We don't even have to buy that many new players if we try to integrate some of the many we have out on loan already. The lad we bought from Fulham and that Morton kid could have been bit part squad players here. 20-30 minutes here and there could perhaps have prevented some of the better players from burning out or getting injured.
  11. For me it's like this: 433 ----GK---- ---4 DF--- -----6----- ----8-8---- -3 Forwards- 4231 ---GK---- ---4 DF--- ---6-6---- ----10---- -3 Forwards- Morten Olsen the legendary Danish manager called the difference between those two for: Inverting/reversing the triangle. He did this constantly depending on the opposition. I don't know if that makes sense.
  12. They way I see it no one should leave and we should add three or four new players. There has to be at least two options for every number and one more at certain positions like CB. If anyone leaves it should still be three or four new ones plus a replacement for whoever leaves. I was on board with "having a slim squad for the harmony" thing because that's what Jurgen wanted but the demands these days dictates larger squads. It's painfully obvious to me now. We've seen it before and it was evident this season. There's no two ways about it. It will rain injuries in any season. A few more able bodies and some fair refs could have been the difference. We need more players. Regarding Endo, the guy was dirt cheap, most likely on low wages and seems extremely happy to be here. It like having the perfect squad player. I really see no reason to sell him after one season. Let him be a squad player and get that top DM in. We need another one anyway if we are going to play with a double pivot. For me the big question is how we line the midfield up in a 4231. You don't want Trent and Alexis in a double pivot and ideally you'd want a superstar half striker/half attacking midfielder #10 behind your #9 in that formation. I'm not convinced we have that player in our squad at this moment. Top candidates in order: 1: Gakpo - as an attacking player for Holland you'd think he has the intelligence and ability to be a 10. Can pass and score but needs to work on his finesse 2: Macca - Although I worry if there is enough of a striker/attacking midfielder in him to play so high up with two 6's behind him. 3: Dom - has the skills to play there but has looked spent for the past six months so questions are there about his endurance over a full season. 4: Elliott - like Dom this kid has all the attributes you normally look for in a #10 but obviously lacks physique. He has taken huge strides forward this season and I think it's only a matter of time before he comes into his final form. Could well be as a #10 here. Other considerations: Jones - First edition was billed as an attacking player but has become more and more of a grafter/deep playmaker. Could also be a bit too slow for a position with so little space around it. Lucho/Mo - Both of them have the attributes to play that role but you'd wonder if they would be underutilized in that somewhat stationary playmaker role. Trent: Bet he'd love that but no. Not explosive enough. Gerrard was perfect for that role
  13. I know he's hot stuff but he's only been in Germany for almost one season. At 20 I think it's too early to drop top striker cash on this guy. For me he needs a higher goal average than one in two. I think this is a good post.
  14. Lot of mad calls here tbh.
  15. No way we buy Osimhen. He's gonna be way too expensive on the fee and the wages. I think he ends up at an oil/petro/gas club of his own choice. Chelsea or Paris. Sesko has 16 goals in 40 games for Leipzig this season. Hardly impressive numbers for a Bundesliga striker.
  16. Except if he goes 4231 we won't be using any 8's.
  17. He’ll fit right in then.
  18. Release clause you say. Interesting. If only Jörg was still around.
  19. He was good last night. Gonna be a hefty fee I imagine. f*** off FSG.
  20. Ok. I always assume we track all the players. Idk.
  21. Gotta have to consider any links to Feyenoord players as extremely lazy journalism and most likely made up.
  22. That would mean they were smart and sensible so I can’t see that happening. I think Sir Petro King will go all out on the British narrative and make yanaited great again so Southgate or Potter or something like that.
