I don’t try to be contrary to everyone just to the idea that they are better than us. I don’t think they are stronger than us. Maybe that’s why I’m “arsy”. Well I do. I’m not having a half-arsed dig on these boys.

I’ll try one last condensed time. The way I see it is this: When you say Arsenal are better than us you also say that ALL the adversity we’ve had with injuries and refs doesn’t even equate or make up for those three points they have on us.

Three points is hardly a gap. Refs alone cost us more points than three. The only thing they’ve bested us at is staying injury free and that is purely down to luck imo.

Yeah maybe but I still don’t understand how a team with three points more than us is supposed to be better than us considering they’ve not had the issues we’ve had. They are at their absolute max performance. We aren’t even close to ours and it’s still only three pints.

Because three points is so little. If we are at around the same points with injuries and refs we would be higher than them if things had been more comparable. They are playing well because they are settled due to no injuries. We aren’t because we are f***ed and have been f***ed. Now that may well be our fault. But they aren’t better than us with fully fit squads and normal refs.

I just feel like when three teams are so evenly matched refs and injuries can pretty much decide it. Or put differently say we didn’t have all those injuries (or just 50%less) and we didn’t get screwed by the refs who here thinks we wouldn’t be top?

And what about the refs and injuries? Like my entire post? If Arsenal are better than us shouldn’t they have a bigger gap than three points?

Arsenal were lucky with injuries this season. They’ve pretty much had none at all. That’s more luck than skill. I get the sense that some here don’t accept injuries as an excuse but we had some really bad luck this season, like next level madness. Playing the kids was fun but it just proves how broken everything was. Arsenal didn’t have to go through that. And the ref stuff. The Spurs game, the Ødegaard handball, the Doku pen. All in games where we looked good but lost due to refs. It makes no sense to say they are better than us imo. Butterfly effect stuff sure but I feel we are the better team, we’ve just been up against it in every way, shape or form possible. Maybe we should have brought in replacements for Matip and Thigo before the summer. That could have helped with not overplaying those we did have. Especially when the injuries came flooding in in 24’. #f***FSG. Maybe we shouldn’t have gone in on all four comps. Maybe I’m just whining. But, I don’t think they are better than us. If they were better they should both have been 10 points clear of us ages ago.

Aye. It’s kinda like watching the NY Jets. They may have a great defense but they eventually tire from being out there for too much time because the offense can’t get drives going. Our defense, which basically is two players, is strong but they are better when we are leading and everyone helps out defensively keeping it tight. Having to chase games 16 times from losing positions in the league has tired them out.

I thought that too and that may be the case unless he swaps the system. It’s just from the articles I’ve seen his 10 are more like secondary strikers but I can that can change too.
