It could but then they wouldn’t have come back I guess

He is and I agree but it is also a bit s*** because the man likely worked hard for us and gave us everything he had so he should be heralded, yet he must lift the collective load of disappointment. In some ways to protect Jurgen and in other ways to serve as an outlet. I personally will never forgive him for writing that book but I concede that he has been under appreciated.

Everyday is a struggle.

I could see FSG letting some of the heavy earners go. No point in having platinum players on huge wages if we aren’t going all in on the title anyway. Everyone says Klopp and Edwards disagreed on the Hendo contract. I will assume that Edwards is going to be more ruthless when it comes to letting aging players on high wages go. In the end there was just too many

Dear God this post is spectacular. Please never stop.

Everything you write makes sense. Yet the feelings I have are not rooted in sense. Emotions are not sensible. It’s just one of those things where you feel things rubbing the wrong way even though everything looks good on the surface. Like after shaving your b******s for the lover You know it’s the right thing to do but motherf***ers be scratching all day.

I love Klopp and Bobby but those teeth freak me out

I wanted him back on the basis that it worked having him as SD under Klopp. But, that’s not what we got. New Edwards is CEO. Ok. Whatever. Let’s give it a go. THEN he gives the SD role to his mate who has no experience working at the top of the Prem or any league. THEN he hires a coach with no experience at the top of the Prem or even in England. And THEN he hires back Ward who left so quickly after buying us Nunez you wonder if he even knows what he wants to do himself. Like someone said. Edwards was supposed to be THE stats guy but so far he’s hired two mates and a coach with no top level experience and he doesn’t want to work in that role that made his name. Oh. And f*** off FSG.

I am preparing myself for the worst. I really thought I was the only one. I member the days. At least it’s not going to be the bloody Ferguson Mancs dominating my every breath. At this moment I’m still preparing. The fear takes me around many topics. Like I fear there were managers out there higher on our list and willing to come but too expensive for our budgets. Essentially meaning FSG didn’t go all out, again. I also fear this new model is set in place for Edwards, Hughes and Ward to work free of consequences as they can just put everything on the coach at all times. Essentially I fear that FSG/the boardroom are the bad guys. Jurgen was the hero defending us fans against the boardroom, like Rafa did H&G. Slot will be part of the boardroom, he’ll do as told, they are neutering him before he starts. Thus leaving us with no hero. Just some money men at the board level and some stats men with apparently no sense of loyalty and a short way to the door when things don’t go as they wish. Molby is spot on. It may not be complete wilderness but it will be a race for 4th against teams with unlimited cash at best.

f***ing hell lads.

Can we at least agree that Edwards the Sport Director didn’t return. This is some other CFO Edwards. He may even be better this way but it’s not the same thing. Solanke next. Then Hughes and Edwards will have bought him four times combined. How’s that for moneyball.

Yeah I know and it was clever too I’ll give you that. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I’m not that kind of clever myself although I wish I was. I guess in some ways using a double-sized glass for one serving is the same as using a small pitch in training. I’m sorry btw for going off topic. I’ll stop now. Also I never meant to go in on Slot the person as much as the idea of him being more than he is. It does feel like that point was lost along the way and the narrative has been twisted a tad here. I don’t think it helps him or us to inflate the generic and/or obvious stuff. The expectations are already high enough considering who he is replacing. That said like anyone else obviously I’d love it if he was more successful at avoiding injuries than Jurgen was.

Nope

No, just a DOF lowball glass. I use copious amounts of ice and loads of orange slices. My key to avoiding hangovers is never to have more than one serving on any given evening. Tbh I’m not a big drinker. I just recently started to deep dive cocktails for the culture references. It started with me watching all the Bond movies in chronological order and being oblivious to how his drinks tasted annoyed me. Latest one I tried was the Flying Grashopper. A more alcoholic rif on the classic minty delight from New Orleans in the 1900’s.

It just goes so well in an Old Fashioned with the bitters and the orange in my opinion.

I'm not the one who brought it up in the first place. I do appreciate the restraint you are showing here so I'll take your idea and I will pour myself a Bourbon. I don't do scotch. I like sweet things! FFS.

I don’t have issues with his nationality. Their league is s*** and that’s not my fault nor is it an issue to point out the obvious and the hair thing is banter. Like how sensitive can you pretend to be. Just piling on for the laughs now. That is true. FWIW I don’t think he’s a bluffer. I think he’s extremely ambitious and obviously highly rated. I don’t know what happened with ETH but I assume no one in the world could make that squad perform so I’ll give him that.
-
I don’t snipe about literally anything stop being so dramatic. He’s not going to make us less prone to injuries because he uses a small pitch in training. That’s ridiculous. He has no experience outside Holland. And the Dutch league is absolute s***. Those are facts. There’s no need to be upset over those things. We can still move forward. We have to. He’s coming. So I’ll back him. I hope he wins the league and the CL next season. But, I’m not going to ignore facts.

That Cruyff fellow was decent
-
Yea well the line comes from an article about how fantastic this guy is at avoiding injuries with no mention of the vast difference in intensity between playing every seven days in Holland and then whatever mess we have going on as a top club in the Prem and Europe. It’s clearly written to big him up. That’s why I call it marketing.
-
I’m not sniping because he’s Dutch tbh. I don’t care where he is born. Some of the best managers in the world were/are Dutch.
