  1. This 'slowing down the play' argument is bulls*** too IMO. I don't recall us playing fast, flowing one touch football with him out of the side. He played in both the 4-1 hammering of City and the 6-1 of Southampton and is the only one of the regular front three behind Sturridge who presses consistently well. He doesn't score as many as Coutinho or Firmino, but works much harder off the ball. Of course he could and should be upgraded as should anyone, but this criticism of him is getting dull now.
  2. How might he deal with a Klopp pre season?
  3. f*** off Hodgson. Seriously. f*** off.
  4. So anyway. When does the transfer window OPEN?

  6. Karius you golden Hun You'll replace the wayward one Put that Belgian t*** to rest Don't you cry no more I thang yow.
  7. Ok. Playing Devils Advocate then. If, even given the context of injuries/fixture congestion/prioritisation of the EL, should we be concerned by the manager, whose job it was to deal with these issues and get us much higher up the League? He has finished 8th in two Leagues two years in a row after all. Or is it all the players fault? Discuss.
  8. What will fyds say (in English) if it turns out to be two years? Also, did fyds clarify that since France is an hour ahead of GMT, would he be available for a 4pm kick off but not for a 3pm once his ban finishes?
  9. Which could be true, no? It's not like we can ask Seville to play us again, like.
  10. Laudrup we were signing him (can't remember which one) for ever. Until we didnt
  11. Shift out Benteke Balotelli Skrtel Toure Allen Ibe Smith Added to the obvious... Enrique Bogdan Teixera Rossiter Illori Luis Alberto Wisdom Caulker Sakho (probably)
  12. See this middle paragraph, in the context of the question I asked, isn't relevant. Of course we're proud to support Liverpool Football Club, passionate about the team, desperate to win trophies to resecure our position at the top of the game. But. I'm asking if this season, in isolation, with no regard to our proud history, but with the challenges faced and decisions made by both managers was an overachievement or not. A little surprised that no-one other than me thinks it was anything other than a failure. Obviously, the League position was dire, but the manager clearly put all his eggs in the Europa basket after the LC final while continuing to fight the comprehensive injury list. And Sakho. By saying we were 's***' in the League are we also saying that Klopp made the wrong call to focus on the EL? Genuine questions. I'm gutted too, like.
  13. I'm not interested, in this thread, of talking about individuals and their failings. There is plenty of chat elsewhere where Mignolet, Moreno, Benteke, Lallana and even Klopp have fallen short. I also don't want the debate to get bogged down in a discussion on terminal summer signing failures. Or otherwise. I want to consider as a whole, whether the club, the squad, the managers we had between the start of the season last August and today have underachieved or not given some context:- The sacking of a manager and the hiring of another one. No signings in January. Crippling injuries, not just to Ings and Gomez, but other mid-long term absentees (Henderson, Sturridge, others) Having to balance going deep in three out of four competitions. My head says finishing eighth in the League is poor. Then my heart kicks in and tries to assess how this group of players got to two cup finals. On balance, I think we overachieved under Klopp given the tools he's had to work with. But.... given that we have finished eighth and are not in Europe next season, I have some concern whether losing two cup finals has holed the confidence of some players below the waterline. The manager himself is confident in many of these players, but did 45 minutes in Switzerland shake his belief at all in some of the group? Already, I can't wait tell next season. I'm not ever one who takes the title or top four for granted, even with no European games to distract us. But we get to start again, and I'd be interested to hear the thoughts of others as to whether this is from a position of relative weakness or strength. Did we underachieve or overachieve? Whichever - next season is new and starts today. f*** the FA Cup Final. I literally could not give a s***e. Come on, you mighty, mighty reds.
  14. And I've seen no solid links to him either.
  15. It's sickening. Like ' The lure of Klopp ' is enough for us to buy anyone, and anyone we don't buy is because of leaks to the press. It's s***e. Boring old s***e.
  16. That's the Spurs who ARE in the CL and thus will find it easier to attract players who have this as an immediate target, yeah?
  17. If Gotze can't wait 2 years to win the first of multiple Champions Leagues he can FRO.
  18. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/may/19/christian-beneteke-liverpool-talks-jurgen-klopp Does anyone seriously thi k he'll be here next season? I'd take 15 for him in an instant instant.
  19. What comments?
  20. Didn't Smith and Flanno get new contracts too? Flanno might turn out fine, but Migs was strange and Smith is limited.
  21. Talk of Canos going. Can't personally see all of Hendo, Allen and Lucas staying.
