  1. Not keen on the Ketchup, whiskey and duvet covers then?
  2. Serious response to a daft a joke - well, it is Wednesday... So - how soon can we expect to see Danny O'Agger and Florent McPongolle lining up next to Patrick O'Kluivert then?
  3. Yep - it's a big world. Great youngsters crop up more often than we may realise - the trick is seeing them early. Given Sky's all seeing eye Walcott was there for everyone to see. Rafa has massively professionalised our scouting network and I expect that to pay massive dividends in the coming years as we may well pick another 'Walcott', though possibly with a Spanish, Dutch, German or Danish name that we may not have heard of but Rafa's people will.
  4. Paddy's wigwam could only really impress the british. It's technically a poor design shot through with problems and upkeep issues and ergo is the recipient of many RIBA and design awards.
  5. 'In order to bring in new players to the squad, I'm not affraid to use the Granny option for recruiting' The new ROI manager revealed at a press cionference yesterday.

  8. Because basically, they have no more idea now than they did four days ago - so re-fluff and add a dash of Chelsea.

    Reina...

Reina + Cech - both have tight defences, both commanding - I don't care what Andy says - you get in his range and he'll take your head off. Both good shot stoppers. Reina has made the odd mistake, but they are rare and his record shows this - he gets up and starts again, no nerves - on with the show. Dudek has struggled with that, worse luck as I like him a lot to say the least. Cech is making plenty of mistakes this season - not as many as some, but more than Reina. As RP said - you could make a case for one or the other. I prefer Reina as his distribution and vision is usually so outstanding. Given is very overrated. His kicking is terrible, he fluffs crosses a plenty and doesn't have a punch. Great shot-stopper, agile but prone to his frontal lobes going missing. All the other keepers to a greater or lesser extent in the prem have great days and some right stinkers - Reina and Cech are consistently good.
  10. Dear Liverpool supporter, I was delighted with our performance at the weekend because we played a good game of football and beat a good team. At this moment we have just the one game a week and so it's easier to prepare the players for each match. We were fresh against Spurs and able to control the game. There weren't many chances during the 90 minutes but I always felt confident that we would score the important goal. We had a couple of opportunities in the first half and some more in the second, while I think Spurs only had a couple. It was nice to see Harry's volley go in and then we defended properly to make sure we kept the result. It was important for Harry to score after the injury problems he's had. For that goal to come at the Kop end is even better for him. He is training well every day and repeating games. He is playing at the level we know he is capable of. I'm not looking at the league table at the moment and I'm not interested in what other teams are doing. All I am looking for is improvement on a weekly basis from my team and at the end we will see what we can do. We have an important group of games coming up now against sides around us in the table, starting this weekend against Manchester United. If we can get good results from these games then we will be well placed to keep our position towards the top of the table. That's our aim. Regards, Rafa Benitez All about building and building...
  11. I'm German-Polish brought up by English adoptive parents, with a Dutch-Sri-Lankan wife and Uncles, Aunts and cousins on that side in Holland, Germany, France, Brazil, Czech Republic and Spain - I can't lose!
  12. I tell you - a sending off or a couple of knocks against Burton and they could be down to the a*se of their pants.
  13. Pair of twunts

  15. FC Nurnberg - oh Christ - when I lived over there I used to get dragged to see them by mates Peter Hummer and Andreas Schotz. They are abysmal - you have my sympathies!
  16. Booby Robson and Steve Staunton enter the press conference...
  17. BBC radio 5 was full of he's told Chelsea 'it wouldn't matter if they bid £50m - he won't go there'. That would make things interesting.
  18. Thinking about it, you may be right...need to check on that too.
  19. I didn't know Cobs was so well blessed with chins!
  20. If Smith gets a booking, he misses our game as he'll be on 5. Same I think for Osram features.
  21. But Yeah, but no, but yeah, but no and all that... That's why I said 'should' as opposed to something more definite. If they pick up a few more bookings against Burton however,
  22. Cissé v the Bitters - wonderful run and finish.
  23. The major difference in this fixture this year is that one factor has been completely reversed. We are now the consistent ones not them, so which United will turn up? I know what you mean - the level of our performace, consistency and expectation has risen exponentially this year. That could and should make a significant difference if we do it right.
