  1. The oddest thing about this tweet is how that Moby bloke translated French clubs into 'Belgium clubs' and then goes on to list three French clubs.
  2. Room to get much better, but in a functioning team with some actual tactics and players who pass and move, I still believe he'll be fantastic.
  3. He managed to get more out of Mo, but probably Mo got more out of Mo. Most of it was residual Klopp football (albeit slightly less pressing). As soon as he started getting us to play his pointless possession football, we started the decline that we are still in. It's so easy to talk about 'identity' in a glib way, but all of us know what our identity was when Klopp was here. Arsenal have their own identity (very solid defending, great at set pieces and winning free kicks, time wasting etc). We have no identity, and fans and players alike know it.
  4. October, November and December were s*** too! It's almost like there's some kind of pattern here. Wonder if those in charge can see anything.
  5. I think aside from Dom, pretty much all the players are mentally gone. I know they're paid a fortune and should care more for the fans, but it's like when you have a crappy boss at work and just don't give a s*** anymore. That's what it looks like and has looked like all season.
  6. So I watched the first 20 or so minutes from a download (and then the rest on fast forward) - looks like we started pretty decent, actually dominated, probably should have taken the lead, and then stopped playing football, and (as with any other game where we've gone behind) had no chance of coming back after they scored. Sounds about right? And I feel sorry for our players being told to boot the ball out of play at KO. It's embarrassing.
  7. If FSG stick with him, we may as well all give up on football for sake of our mental health.
  8. I don't think I've ever enjoyed an international break as much as this last one. Didn't watch a minute of football, didn't give us much thought, and kinda annoyed we're back playing tomorrow, which feels stupid to write. And thank goodness it's a 4.30am game for me. I don't have ESPN Plus (which is what it's streaming on here) and no way am I going to get up early and find a stream, so if we win, great, if we lose, I won't have to suffer watching us for 90 plus mins. Sad that this is what our manager has made me feel like.
  9. Not that there's any shortage, but this alone is a sackable offence.
  10. Gutted. Knew the day would come, and I guess if next season continues like this - both with his decline and our inability to actually play football, it would be worse. But still a sad day. Absolute legend. One of the best ever, and such a great guy too. Just as I don't expect anyone to ever beat Rush's goal scoring record, I'm not sure we'll see the likes of Salah's goals/assists again.
  11. By his own admission, he said he merely tweaked our set up that we had under Klopp. And Salah had one of the all time great seasons (maybe helped by some of those minor tweaks). But the longer we've gone on, and the further we've got away from Klopp, the worse we have become in absolutely every aspect of the game, not just in every position on the pitch, but also fitness, mentality, decision making. It's hard to admit, but even Moyes would get more out of this team than Slot is able to.
  12. I'm looking forward to seeing him run around the pitch at the same pace most of us would be able to run, and then not get the ball anyway, because it's much more fun to pass it sideways and then all the way back to our keeper who can boot it back to our opponents. Hopefully with a new manager and a full pre-season he can start afresh in August.
  13. It would be funny as f*** if Spurs go down, but having flirted with relegation for so many years, I'll be irrationally annoyed that it's not Everton.
  14. Not really watched the game. Have Arsenal not had enough corners?
  15. The 'good' news is that likely we only have to do it 10 more times.
  16. It's f***ing weird to have such a negative reaction to a guy who won the league and then had to deal with the parade stuff and Jota's death, and did so in a way that made him look like a genuinely good guy (not to mention a good manager having won us the league for only the second time in an eon). Can't imagine another manager has ever gone from such high stock to such low in such a short space of time (Chelsea ex players who managed to win stuff before being fired isn't the same). I avoid reading / seeing him say anything, because it's frankly embarrassing now. It's astounding how bad we are, and the fact that we spent so much money in the summer just makes it worse. We are an absolute joke. And I know that (like Macca), I'm f***ing delighted it's an international break, and that's not for the first time this season.
  17. He actually had a run of games (maybe ending a month or so ago) where he was pretty decent, but has reverted to this weird brainless abomination we've seen for most of the season.
  18. Saves a few long shots, but otherwise he gives me Kirkland vibes. The pass it around pointlessly and then give it to our keeper works even less well with him in goal. Edit: to Clarify - the passing to our keeper is so we can give the ball to the opponent either directly or by kicking it out of play. Slotball.
  19. We had half an hour to try to score a second, and didn't for a moment ever look like we were going to get close. I had no idea what formation we were playing once Ekitike went off, and then it just got worse when we threw all the subs on. Pretty surprising Brighton didn't score again. Galatasaray was a nice distraction, but I bet nobody here was in the least bit optimistic about getting a win today.
  20. You could see him mouth "what for?" to the ref. Guess it was worth a try.
  21. Such a weird game from him last night. Yet another match where he got a goal and an assist, but man, he could/should have had 3, possibly 4 goals (the 1:1 in the first half, missed pen, and then when he hit crossbar after great work from Hugo). His goal was fantastic though, and so good to see him smiling again.
  22. I wonder if Slot just massively over-compensated because we ran out of steam at the end of last season. So he's told us to play this restrained way - and then occasionally (like last night) we actually out run, and bother doing a real press. Also, as an aside, I do love that Galatasaray spent 3 games time wasting, throwing themselves to the floor, and using every trick from the Mourinho playbook and then suffered two really bizarre, freak injuries last night. Aint Karma a bitch sometimes...
  23. He also made a couple of really weird and pointless runs, where instead of running into space, he just got too close to, and left less space for Ekitike (who had the ball), while not being in a position that made passing to him worthwhile.
  24. We out ran them, pressed well, and played some decent football. They were a terrible team, but Spurs were worse, and we couldn't beat them. Freakishly bad luck that the guy lost a finger in his altercation with the advertising hoarding, but I don't know what was worse in that game, the Galatasaray players throwing themselves to the ground and feigning injury throughout the game, or the officials letting them get away with it. And the goal they disallowed at the end, and didn't ask the ref to review it was just lol.
  25. Maybe already posted, but hard to argue with any of this. It's absolutely shambolic (not that we don't notice when watching the games themselves.
