    Salah has had plenty of stick for being selfish during his time here, time Wirtz stepped up and showed that same ‘arrogance’, take hold of the game and produce the quality we paid £116m for.

    It’s a bad injury, remember a lad doing his achilles tendon playing 5 a side, sounded like snapping a big stick over your knee. He was in absolute agony so hopefully Ekitike gets lucky and it’s a small tear.

    I don’t doubt there’s a player there, but some of those stats are very questionable. Sprints vs intensive runs? What contributes to a ‘goal contribution’? A pass somewhere in the build up?

    For me, 135m player has the gall to think you know what, f*** the manager here I’m going to go and make this game my own. He just doesn’t, the PL is a big step up and doubtless this manager isn’t getting anything from him but I think he just has to have more about him.

    Comparatively you’d be looking at Virge and Szobo getting a start for their side based on this seasons performances, Konate a maybe but not for my money, rest are lucky to do a bench tbh.

    He’s not strong, quick or in any way good defensively. Mac has been terrible this season but Wirtz isn’t a CM you’d want doing that role akin to Szobo or Grav, least of all against a midfield three like theirs.

    Not much other option really, can’t play Wirtz there and Jones is dire.

    Blame the keeper all you like, we can’t cross a decent ball when in yards of space, make simple five yard passes or pick out a man and take a decent touch in the box. Szobo poor at the end but he’s goosed and rightly so as he’s carried this s***e midfield all year and ended up stuck at f***ing RB all too often.

    I know, but the intensity is better and but for some luck from Marquinhos and better final ball around their box it could be a different scoreline.
