  1. f*** me :-)
  2. Newcastle player handled that before the ref ended advantage.
  3. Haha it wasn't a penalty because he wasn't looking at him as he clattered through his leg.
  4. What did it look like the ref was saying to Luis there? "Yes, he did [get the ball]" or something? Thought he was owning up to the mistake for a second.
  5. Little snigger into the mic as well. "Oh was it? Haha."
  6. Oh for God's sake.
  7. I get to watch this on an actual television set. And I love Newcastle matches. This is going to be awesome.
  8. I'm a limber 35!
  9. I have to say I find it hard to accept that Kenny, as the awesomest player from a series of awesome teams, whose legend was further enhanced after he hung up his boots, and rightly so of course, should pip Gerrard in the purely playing stakes. I reckon in a few years the entirety of Gerrard's career will be seen for the amazeballs one-off it was (those goals!) and the people who are nowadays picking Kenny having seen both him and Gerrard will just be like those old fellows who had seen Liddell and then Dalglish and would still pick Liddell. Not wrong, but just ... old Obviously I've never seen any of these players live so I cheerfully admit that my opinion on the matter isn't worth a damn. Gerrard for me, though.
  10. ?
  11. Oh Jazes.
  12. Good stuff Gerrard.
  13. Is this Cockney comedy?

  16. Absolutely. Exceptions would only be things like Rio's mam telling him to train harder when he was a kid, etc.

  20. Did I misrepresent your position in the post before last, obvious exaggeration apart? Do you really believe that Scholes doesn't get treated specially by English refs with regard to yellow-card tackles, as the stats indicate; that they either do not notice or ignore, while watching other matches at home, that their fellow referees very frequently appear to let him away with a clear early yellow; that it's understandable at the same time that when they're watching they notice the diving of other players and let it seep in, promising themselves that they won't get duped, as you stated above in respect of players who were not Gareth Bale?
  21. It's you I'm trying to help. If I could remember your stance on the Lucas-passing-backwards debate or any other similar forum debate I'd throw it in your FACE at this point if it SUITED. Anyway, if it's down to casual-observer interpretation of how Scholes is treated, consider me even more bamboozled.
  22. Your feathery quote, I meant. Maybe you do really believe that Scholes doesn't get treated specially by English refs with regard to yellow-card tackles, as the stats indicate; that they can't be expected to have noticed, while watching other matches at home, that all their fellow referees appear to get duped into letting him away with a clear yellow first up in every f***ing match;* that it's understandable at the same time that when they're watching they notice the diving of other players and let it seep in, promising themselves that they won't get duped unless it's Gareth Bale, who dives for all his frees.* Once again an exchange with you leaves me bamboozled. * look it up
  23. Not good enough.
  24. I don't know where those figures are to be found. He's had 32 yellows in Europe, and the most recent total I found in a quick search was two years old and said "over 120 yellows in all competitions". I thought I was being nice. He'd want to have been getting some severe yellow cardage in the cups to make up the shortfall. His Premiership bookings have been for more creative fouls? I just think it's interesting that the stats appear to support what most fans think, i.e., that English referees don't book him as often as proper referees should.
  25. And he still should have had more. More, more, more. There's no way he's only committed one bookable offence every seven matches, old boy. He isn't reffed properly. If that Champions League stat is right, then it's: English refs: ~100 yellows from ~570 matches, a rate of about 1 in 6 (edit: chortle) European refs: 32 yellows from 128 matches, a rate of 1 in 4. Maybe those Continental refs don't watch enough football.
