Ah yes. Because a free kick 25 yards from goal in the first half, at 0-0 against a rubbish team, is the same as a penalty in the 2nd half, when you're losing 0-2 to a decent side.

Yeah and maybe we'd have less draws if we'd been given the same favourable treatment as them. Or even if legal goals we score against the likes of Stoke, werent incorrectly ruled out.

Yeah, there was no incorrect influence from refs which made us draw home games, was there?

The call was ended fairly quickly.

    Us and Them

No chance of Pompey getting anything. Spurs just might. More likely Arsenal though, and their away games at Boro (between their two CL games), Wigan (going for 7th) and Hull (if they're still in need of something to secure safety) might yield something for us. We could do with Arsenal getting a decent result in the 1st leg of the CL game - if United need a good result down at the Emirates in the 2nd leg, there might be a chance of them resting players away at Boro. We'll need Boro to still be in danger, but with a fair chance of staying up, when they host the mancs.
  6. Is it me, or does rafa not even appear on that clip? The so called 'gestures' happened after the 2nd goal, didnt they?
  7. Plessis wasnt laughing or dancing, like Itandje - Plessis was looking at him as if to say 'what the f*ck are you doing?'

As it is, they look fairly jaded already, and there's all that lot still to come. I'm glad they got through tonight, more chance of them running out of steam.
  9. Doesnt even need to be an early goal. 0-1 at half time and then a second goal at any point upto about 75 mins would leave them s**tting bricks.
  10. I dont think they were pointing to how good a game it was, or even how big an achievement it is to beat Bayern Munich. I think they were going for the 'dramatic inexplicable finish' angle and the fact that everything changed in the space of about 120 seconds, with no chance of recovery.
  11. He loves Liverpool, he'd do it for us
  12. As he scored that an absolutely gorgeous brunette walked up the steps on the Kop. Not sure which was better for a minute........ obviously I came.
  13. Dunno about that, with 8 minutes to go, it looked like they would.
  14. Not sure i'd say 'convinced', but i said that when there were 10 games left, and i still think it could well be the case now that there's only 7.
  15. That's really not very likely now, is it?
  16. Will he even play? He's about 52 now. Not enough pace or mobility to trouble them, IMO.
  17. If Harry Redknapp was still at Portsmouth, they might have half a chance. But i just cant see it. Not strong at the back and Crouch could be bullied off it by Ferdinand and Vidic. Sunderland need to make it a scrap but that's been the case already against much worse sides, and they've shown very little. Crouch and Cisse, former reds with a chance to do us a favour. Let's hope they're up for it.
  18. I'm looking at the teams they're due to face, and looking for two things - the ability to be solid at the back, and the necessary tools to hurt United's defence. How do those things translate into Sunderland and Pompey?
  19. Was there a problem with Aurelio's fitness? I thought he was fine, but Insua played because he's not registered for europe (in order to keep Fabio completely fresh).
  20. Our problem, as always, is maintaining this level across a whole league season.
  21. My biggest concerns are that they've had their scare and will be focused enough to not let it happen again. And likewise, Ferdinand and Vidic as a pair, are generally good enough to keep them solid at the back. With Rooney and Scholes also back, i find it hard to see tripe like Pompey or Sunderland really bothering them. Hope i'm totally wrong, of course.
  22. Yeah it was - but Pompey, Sunderland and teams of that ilk dont have Gerrard or Torres to turn to. Boro away is always tricky for the big sides, but they'll probably be relegated by the time the mancs go there. The games which might yet give us a good chance are Spurs and Arsenal at OT, and Wigan away. They'll win at Sunderland, they'll beat Portsmouth, they'll win at Boro and they'll batter City. Hull away in the last game, if the mancs need to win it, i think they will. The damage will need to be done by two of Spurs, Arsenal and Wigan.
  23. To be honest, i fear the Riley intervention too. You can just see it coming, if we get to the latter stages and there's any danger of United not winning this game, he'll be itching to make the decisive and winning decision. Actually, i felt the same about Bennett at Craven Cottage yesterday, he would've loved to see us not win. Really need Villa to go ahead and minimise the Riley intervention factor.
  24. Actually, when it comes to naivety, you can swap Ashley Young's name for James Milner's too. Stupid fecking back pass, idiot.
