  1. Remember seeing once, i think it was an ex-ref, saying that most refs dont actually stop their watch whenever the ball goes out of play, they just guesstimate as the game goes on and then at the end, they decide how much time has amassed throughout the game and put in a 'rough estimate' as the alloted period of added on time. The 'at their discretion' thing gives them a get-out now matter how wrong they get it. Sounds seriously shoddy and random, to me.
  2. Christ on a bike. If there even WAS any doubt as to his validity as a Red, this exposes him well and truly. I look forward to hearing his thoughts on the joyous Istanbul triumph of 1846.
  3. Please tell me he didnt really say 1999?
  4. Ah, the postmen again. P*sstake really. Glad i picked up my Lyon ticket in person now, it clearly wouldnt have reached me otherwise.
  5. What game were you buying for dave? Didnt think any game went on sale today. Hope i havent missed out on anything.
  6. It may well do. It might also mean they just stay over the other side of the water and turn up to even less games. As i said, i back the protests and what they're trying to achieve. Even if it makes 1% difference, fair play.
  7. I think that's the sad reality of it. I wonder about how failure to qualify for the CL would impact on their masterplan though. If it meant they'd f*ck off, and i was assured that we'd re-qualify for it the following year, i'd take one season out of the top four.
  8. I dont think it'd make a significant difference to the amount of money that they'd accept to bugger off, to be honest. Dont get me wrong, i'm not moaning about people doing it, i admire them for what they're doing. If you're asking me whether i think it'll make the difference between the yanks sticking around or f*cking off, i would say probably not. Fair play for the effort they're going to though, to do their bit.
  9. That's fair enough and i back all that. I'd agree it probably pisses them off and they dont like it, though i dont think protests would/will be a defining factor in them selling the club, is all. Fair play though, make life as difficult as possible for them, i totally back that.
  10. He probably thinks the only realistic way they'll go, is if the situation ceases to become financially profitable enough for them. Or if they're offered what they deem to be a worthwhile amount, in keeping with what they planned or intended to make out of the club.
  11. Totally agree with this. I'm not sure why they'd suddenly start caring about us hating them and not wanting them. Their motivation is money, not popularity.

    This season

When i say 'forget the league', i mean we need to stop looking at every single result in terms of it meaning we're out of the title race if we've lost, or we're right in the mix if we win.

    This season

Time to forget the league, forget looking at the league table, and just concentrate on the basics, one game at a time, get our defence organised better and show a bit more drive and desire. Do that for the next 10 games and then see what's what.
  14. I'd meet up for a scoop or...a scoop (i'm driving) but it's a long way from London, so it could only happen if i got there with plenty of time to spare. Altogether too much hassle for me to be included in such pre-game mirth.
  15. Yeah, why dya ask?
  16. Got mine this morning. Fecking 90p booking fee. Rip-off merchants.
  17. Certainly could. I was saying if we dont beat Sunderland, i think our challenge is over. I dont think Chelsea will get beat at Villa mind. If we're talking in 'coulds' then of course a lot of scenarios are possible.
  18. People can call it kneejerking if they like, but if we dont win at Sunderland, i think that'll be more or less goodnight. I think Chelsea will win at Villa and the mancs/arsenal both have 'easy' home games. 8-9 points will be too big a gap to bridge because i dont think we'll go nearly 30 games unbeaten.
  19. Jennifer Taylor Clarke?
  20. Subs: Reina, Gerrard, Torres, Skrtel, Voronin, Plessis, Johnson.
  21. Cavalieri Degen Carra Greek man Dossena Spearing Masch Aurelio Riera Babel Ngog
  22. With a million odd quid awarded for each win, i dont think playing kids would be the best course of action personally. Especially if we're skint.
  23. Not a strike, just usual weekend engineering works, deliberately scheduled to put stations that are needed for footie out of commission. Best bet is to get the Jubilee Line to Canning Town and then the number 5 bus, which goes to the ground. I think it's the District Line and the Hammersmith & City Line - so the only two which service Upton Park.
  24. Do people honestly think they'll not just do what they want, regardless of what people say, chant and print on leaflets? The only thing they're bothered about is regular streams of cash. And ticket sales take care of that.
