  1. They're hardly going to undermine the current manager by publicly admitting it. Remember the sh*t G&H got over Klinsmann?
  2. @TonyBarretTimes: Liverpool have denied making an approach to Carlo Ancelotti. Interesting. They kind of have to deny it, given that Rodgers is still in the job. Furthermore if they don't actually want to sack him.
  3. Neil Ashton running the 'made contact with Ancelotti' story too. I won't link it as it's in the Mail.
  4. More from LFC Globe, which confirms Fenway haven't got a clue: @LFCGlobe: To clarify, FSG don't want to sack BR. However, they believe BR may walk, so have sounded out Ancelotti, who is keen to come to LFC. Ancelotti has made it VERY clear to FSG he will come to LFC, that may push them into making a decision, but not soon as of now.
  5. From LFC Globe, who are the one of the most reliable LFC-related sources on Twitter: @LFCGlobe: Ancelotti has been contacted. Nowhere near imminent, but he's the first choice should BR walk. Klopp is not first choice. Ancelotti is. Rodgers being sacked is not on the agenda. Not yet, anyway.
  6. Haha. You don't think there could possibly be anything in it, do you? I can't get my head around the idea that FSG would be anywhere near shrewd or brave enough. A genuine 'move' among fans maybe but nothing that'd make a difference in reality. He's too good an option for FSG to even think about appointing, in my opinion. As others have alluded to, and I agree...FSG want someone who'll just be grateful and overjoyed at being at LFC, they don't want a top class proven manager who knows what's required to win and demands it.
  7. The noises about Ancelotti seem to have got a tiny bit louder, going from a muffled breath to a minuscule whisper.
  8. This guy went to town all summer that Kovacic was all but a 'done deal' so I assume it's more tripe, but.... @Ceri23_LFC: BREAKING.....!! #Ancelotti has been approached by #LFC Sorry, he's a fella on Twitter who, via one means or another, tends to be on the money with his LFC related tweets. I don't know what his links are but he definitely has tended to get a lot of info correct.
  9. Damian: "FSG still think Rodgers is the right man in charge. Only a catastrophic set of results would change their view, according to club insiders." I've never known him to be anything but accurate.

    FSG Watch...

He's obviously gained one hell of an affinity to all things American, during his time there.

    FSG Watch...

You seem to be on some bizarre 'stick up for your countrymen' crusade to convince us that, because there are worse options than FSG, they are good enough or we should accept them because 'it could be worse'. Stop it.
  12. Sakho's class. Open your eyes.
  13. I wonder how many near-faultless games Sakho needs to have before Brendan has the epiphany that'll get Lovren back in the side and Sakho dropped again. On another note, noises going around that Sakho's new contract came as a decision from above Rodgers' head. If true, I wonder if it means either the ownership have hinted to Sakho that, either Rodgers' days are numbered. Or that he (Sakho) can be assured of game time, regardless of whether BR wants to pick him or not. Otherwise, what was in it for Sakho to extend his contract? Maybe money but I doubt any wage increase was that big, that he'd happily jeopardise his international career and possibly his place at the Euros for. All a bit strange.
  14. I get the impression that they go more by whatever they're told by whoever is advising them, than by what certain managers have or haven't previously achieved. Purely my opinion that, but it stacks up when you consider that they seemingly had no interest whatsoever in Rafa, aren't interested in Klopp after being 'warned off him' (if we believe a recent rumour), were keen on Martinez (who only didn't materialise because he wouldn't accept working with a Director of Football or transfer committee) and were seemingly interested in AVB. It's very a*se about face, but they don't seem keen on guys with proven track records and do seem to like ones who have basically done nothing of note in the game. All of which fit in with the mindset of people who know nothing about football. Or perhaps of people who want to try and pay a lesser salary and are willing to compromise on whether or not their chosen guy has an impressive CV, in the pursuit of saving on their outgoings.
  15. According to Bild, Klopp isn't going to Borussia Moenchengladbach, who he was being linked to after their managed resigned yesterday.
  16. I heard there are 3 main candidates who are under consideration & FDB is one. AVB is more of an educated guess.
  17. It has been clear from 2013.
  18. Only my hunch - De Boer on it, Klopp/Ancelotti not. Horrible suspicion that AVB is. I don't think they'll go for someone like Monk or Howe.
  19. I believe it extends to 3 names.
  20. Indeed. That ties in with the idea that he's the on the owners' shortlist.
  21. He'd be another huge gamble. Only time will tell.
  22. If the old adage that 'you can only beat what is put in front of you' holds validity, De Boer can't have done much more in the last 4 years. Impressive CV but not a huge amount of managerial experience. FSG will love him.
  23. So, how do people feel about De Boer, then?
  24. Part of the reason they won't hire Monk. Won't make that same mistake again. They might make another mistake, but they won't make that one.
  25. Bold of you to throw your hat in the ring as scapegoat, and give Brendan the week off.
